Months of Gregorian Calendar

Month is called ਮਹੀਨਾ in Punjabi and date ਮਿਤੀ or ਤਰੀਕ. The following are the months of the Gregorian calendar.

1. ਜਨਵਰੀ = January
2. ਫ਼ਰਵਰੀ = February
3. ਮਾਰਚ = March
4. ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ = April
5. ਮਈ = May
6. ਜੂਨ = June
8. ਜੁਲਾਈ = July
9. ਅਗਸਤ = August
10. ਸਤੰਬਰ = September
11. ਅਕਤੂਬਰ = October
12. ਨਵੰਬਰ = November
13. ਦਸੰਬਰ = December

Months of the Vernacular Calendar

The following are the months of the Vernacular calendar. The vernacular calendar is in lunar system.

1. ਚੇਤ = Chet (March)
2. ਵੈਸਾਖ = Vaisakh (April)
3. ਜੇਠ = Jeth (May)
4. ਹਾੜ = Harh (June)
5. ਸਾਉਣ = Saaun (July)
6. ਭਾਦੋਂ = Bhadon (August)
7. ਅੱਸੂ = Assu (September)
8. ਕੱਤਕ = Katak (October)
9. ਮੱਘਰ = Maghar (November)
10. ਪੋਹ = Poh (December)
11. ਮਾਘ = Magh (January)
12. ਫੱਗਣ = Phagun (February)
