Gameplay

The Legend of Zelda series is officially an action-adventure game. Still, it features all the aspects of a role-playing video game. This genre is characterized by three aspects:

  1. Text rich: the character has to interact and dialogue with non-playable characters in order to advance in the game; it would be nearly impossible to complete the game if it was in a language the player is unable to understand.
  2. Freedom of exploration: the character can freely backrack to any previous location at any time, and has a certain degree of freedom as to which dstination to choose next (following the hints from dialogue is generally best).
  3. Permanent upgrades: the character has some attributes (Hearts/HP, Sword level/attack, etc.) that receive permanent upgrades; unlike most role-playing games, attribute growth is independent from any experience point, that are actually absent from the game.

The lack of experience points has some advantages compared to American role-playing games: no need to spend long time grinding; less sharp differences between "early" and "late" monsters give more freedom of exploration; a character described by less "numbers" (the attributes) is more realistic.

In particular, The Legend of Zelda would correspond to the Japanese RPG sub-genre, that is more focused on plot development (i.e. the "text rich" aspect), and where character development (i.e. the "permanent upgrades" aspect) is secondary.

Walkthrough

 

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, like most The Legend of Zelda games, is split up primarily by the linear progression of dungeons. Typically each dungeon contains a special item that is necessary to open or get through the next dungeon, and defeating the boss of each dungeon is necessary to open up the final dungeon, the Black Tower. Note that one additional dungeon is available to players that can link up to an The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons cartridge.

This walkthrough will guide you most efficiently through the game while collecting all of the optional items. These optional parts of the game will be duly noted.


Arrival

Link System

If Oracle of Seasons has already been completed and linked to this game, Link may have some items in his inventory. Otherwise, he starts with nothing.

Link, a hero from the land of Hyrule, has seen much evil appear in a short time. Not long ago, his destiny changed, and he became a mighty force of good, defeating the Evil King Ganon, rescuing Princess Zelda, and restoring peace to the kingdom of Hyrule. Ganon sought out a force, that of the Triforce, and could not obtain it all. Instead, that very force was split into three parts: Power, Wisdom and Courage. One of those parts, Courage, is within Link. Another, Wisdom, lies in Princess Zelda. Ganon held the last force, Power, but it was lost upon his demise. However, an evil sorcerer is about to appear, and has plans that could re-awaken the dark power Ganon held...

Link, the Legendary Hero, is called by the Triforce to Hyrule Castle. It warps him to the land of Labrynna, where a new adventure is about to begin.

Forest of Time

As soon as you arrive, help Impa, that is being attacked by Octoroks. Impa joins you. Soon, she points out a rock marked with a ▲ symbol. Push it aside and head north.

Talk to all the animals: the bear will move aside so you can fit through. A guy in blue, Ralph, recognizes you as being from Hyrule and then introduces you to Nayru. She tells you that she feels that danger is approaching the land. Suddenly, Veran, Sorceress of Shadows attacks and takes possession of the body of Nayru. Then, she escapes through a time portal.

Impa will then explain some more details and give you the Wooden Sword. She tells you to meet the Maku Tree in Lynna City.

Lynna city

Head south, slash the bushes, and enter the town. The Shop near the town entrance sells a Wooden Shield for 30 Rupees. Ignore it: soon you will be able to buy the same for just 10 Rupees.

Head north from the shop. Enter the building marked with a. Vasu gives you a L-1 Ring Box. He also gives you a Magic ring and teaches you how ring appraisning (i.e. identifying) works. Once identified it turns into the Friendship Ring. Most Rings will have some sort of power, but they can only be equipped after being identified.

Leave the jewelry and continue north. Head through the marked door into the Maku Path. Keep heading north until you reach the stairs, then go up them. You have found the Maku Tree! She explains more of what's going on... and then she vanishes! Head east. Ralph jumps into the portal Veran left. Follow him when you're ready.

  • Errata corrige: the Maku tree vanishes because of something that actually never happened, as you will see later.


400 years earlier

Lynna village

Head south, then west in Lynna village, then south again. Enter the left door on the building to play a minigame for 10 Rupees. If you score more than 350 points there, you'll get a Magic Ring.

Notice the right-hand door on the building. If you're playing on a Game Boy Advance you'll be able to enter (otherwise it's locked) and buy two Magic Rings (any ring from Class 3 and GBA Time Ring) and a Gasha Seed for 100 Rupees each. Once you've got the Shovel, keep digging until you have enough Rupees.

Anyway, head all the way west then north. Enter the house and talk to Pippin for a Gasha Seed. Head back outside and then south. Press {{gb|A on the bordered square of soil and plant the seed. It will now progressively grow the more you do. Keep checking it now and then to see if it has grown a nut. When it does you will get a Magic Ring, or maybe even a Piece of Heart!

The Black Tower

Now head all the way south and follow the path around until you reach the entrance to the Black Tower. Talk to the man in the doorway and he'll explain the origins of the tower. He then moves aside, so go on in.

Follow the path counter-clockwise until you see some holes and a guy reading something. Talk to him to get the Shovel! Now you can dig holes and clear piles of rubble. Start with the ones to the right: break through them and then head south to exit. Go back outside. Dig through the rubble to claim your first Piece of Heart. The Shovel enables you to dig in soft earth in search of Rupees and other treasures.

Now go back at the entrance to the village (out of the tower, then head north, east three screens, and finally north). You can now dig your way into the Maku Road.

DUNGEON: The Maku Path

Head north, push the block up to open the door and continue north. Push the block to the left or right. The bats are known as Keese. Anyway, head east. Kill the Gels and the doors open, so head north.

Push the block up and head left. Push the left block up and the right block right. Step on the button and a chest appears. Head back to the doorway and then follow the path left to reach the chest, which contains a Small Key. With the Small Key in hand, return to the room with the Keese and unlock the west door.

Go between the two formations and push the center-left block inwards, the one above it up, and the one below the button to the right. After stepping on the button the door opens. Do the same on the other side to find a hidden Stairs which leads to 30 Rupees.

In the next room are some Stalfos skeletons. Push the bottom-left block up and the bottom-right block left to claim your second Piece of Heart. Now go right and push the solitary block in any direction to open the door. Continue east, then north and up the stairs.

The Maku Tree

Two Moblins (pig warriors) are attacking the Maku Tree. Kill them and the Maku Tree will thank you for saving her. When you leave, she says that she wants to marry you. Okay... continue south and step into the time portal in front of you.

  • Plot flaw: if Link failed to save the Maku Tree, then she would have disappeared straight away, not 400 years later. Or maybe the Moblins started already doing something, that will have a short temporary effect 400 years later? Anyway, the game does not explain.

Back to the present

Head north. As the Maku Tree disappeared for no reason, she already reappeared for no plausible reason as well! Anyway, she explains that you need the eight Essences of Time in order to beat Veran. She also gives you the Seed Satchel including 20 Ember Seed, enabling you to pick seeds from trees dotted around the land.


Yoll Graveyard and Spirit's Grave

From the Maku Tree first go south and burn the tree to get to the east and find 30 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Blue Rupee.png Rupees in a chest. Afterwards go back to the Maku Tree again. Your first destination is Yoll Graveyard. To get there from the Maku Tree, head east, south, south, east, south, then use the the Ember Seeds to burn down the bush in the way. Head east and burn the next Bush too.

Head east, south, then west. Pay attention to what the boys say about a grave beneath a tree. There's a patch of Soft Soil here for later. Anyway, head south, east, east, and burn the bottom tree. Go on in.

Drop an Ember Seed in the lamp above you, then head east for a second. The File:Zelda Oracles Graveyard Key.png Graveyard Key drops from the ceiling. Head back outside and to the stairs you went down to see the boys. Notice the Gasha Seed spot there. This time head north and push against the gate to open it. Head east, south three screens, and then head into Spirit's Grave, but beware of the Crows which lives here.

Spirit's Grave

Dungeon, part 1

This is your first real dungeon. From the entrance, head east. Kill the Zols (which split up in smaller Gels upon an attack) and push the bottom block aside. Head up.

In this room you are introduced to your first puzzle object, the Color Cube. For this puzzle simply push it upwards until it is between the torches. Now go up the stairs to the left, head down, and open the chest for the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map. The map (viewable by pressing Select) will now show all the rooms in this dungeon. Darkened rooms haven't been visited yet. Anyway, drop off the edge and solve the color block puzzle again. Head north this time.

Push the block up and open the chest to the left for the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass. Note it tells you to listen for a noise to know if an object is hidden in the room. You'll get to hear this sound soon. See the vine things on the wall to the left? Burn 'em. Head through the opening. Kill the Ropes and push the button. Open the chest for the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 02.png Power Ring L-1. Remember you have to get it appraised before you can use it. Anyway, return to the color cube room.

Solve the puzzle again and go east. Kill the enemies and head north. Do you hear that noise? That indicates a hidden object. Kill the Ghini (the ghost) and a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key will drop onto the marked square. Grab it and head west. Push the block and open the north door.

Push either block away and open the chest for another File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Head west. Move the inner block down and the center block right. Walk around the barrier and head east, then north.

Push the center block up, the outer blocks out, and finally the other two up. Go to either side and press the button, then do the same with the other side. The left button spawns a chest while the right makes a platform appear. Ride the platform for a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Head back south, then west, then north.

Step on the platform and get off at the top right. Push the button to the top right and claim your File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed. Now get back on the platform and head west. Unlock the door and head south.

Miniboss: Giant Ghini

Giant Ghini is simple. Hit the mini-ghosts he shoots out and then hit him. After about six hits he goes down. A warp and a fairy appears. The fairy will heal you while the warp will return you to the dungeon entrance. Anyway, head west and unlock the southern door (Watch out for the 2 Moblins).

Dungeon, part 2

Push the outer blocks in and the center block aside, then head south. Make your way around while fighting several Stalfos then head north. Light the torches with the Ember Seeds (there's some in the bushes to the south if you've run out) and go down the stairs that appear.

Go down the ladder and up the other for the File:Zelda Oracles Power Bracelet.png Power Bracelet. With this you can lift pots and rocks, simply hold the button it's equipped to and then pull back on the d-pad to pick it up. Now go back upstairs, head south, and open the chest for the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 41.png Discovery Ring (this ring lets you detect hidden Soft Soil patches). Head south.

Push the pot onto the button and continue east. Open the chest for the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key. Continue east and step on the warp. Head north and north again. Watch out for the Wallmasters in this room as they carry you back to the entrance. Go through the east door. Be ready for the monster ahead...

Boss: Pumpkin Head

The Eternal Spirit.

You'll enter the lair of Pumpkin Head, a vengeful spirit. This boss has two stages that repeat. In the first, hack at his body until it vanishes. When his body vanishes, pick up the head and throw it as far away as you can, then slash at the fiery ghost left behind before he can reform his body.

Repeat this a few times and the ghost will finally move on to the afterlife. Collect the File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container. You'll get all your health back, plus one more heart in you Health Meter.

Now head north. Walk up to the pedestal to collect the File:Zelda Oracles Eternal Spirit.png Eternal Spirit, an Essence of Time.

Western Woods and Wing Dungeon

Once you got out of the Dungeon, The Maku Tree contacts you and tells you of an Essence in the Fairies' Woods. Sure enough, that's your next destination.

After leaving the Spirit's Grave dungeon, a ghost appears in the north-west area of Yoll Graveyard (near Syrup's shop). He will ask you to go the Holodrum graveyard and tell a secret to a flowerless tombstone. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons, and go to the graveyard (in the south-west). Dig behind said tomb and enter the revealed stairs. The ghost will test your perception: 13 ghosts will appear, some red and some blue; check whether the red or the blues are in majority (7 or more). If you answer right three times, the white ghost will give you a Heart Container, and then he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Farore and tell her the Ghost's secret: the number of Heart Containers will be upgraded in this game, too.


In Yoll Graveyard, you'll probably meet Maple for the first time as soon as you exit the Dungeon. Bump into her and quickly grab the stuff that fall out.

Go north, then west. Equip the Power Bracelet and take the stone away. Talk to the ghost. Push the tombstone and go into the hole. Talk to the ghost again and get out. Talk to the ghost once more to get the File:Zelda Oracle Poe Clock.png Poe Clock.

In the west portion of Yoll Graveyard is a Gasha soil spot. You can plant a Gasha Seed there. Go one screen south. Lift the stone with the Power Bracelet. Take your third File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart. Go back to the graveyard entrance and burn down the tree to exit. Go further to the town and identify the rings you found in the Spirit's Grave.

Western Woods

Fairies' woods

Leave Lynna Village to the south-west, passing near the Black Tower. Lift the stone to proceed west, and follow the path in the Faeries' woods until you reach the southern coast. If you follow the coast west, the screen will keep repeating, so go north.

Hide and seek

You'll encounter three faeries that want to play hide and seek. One will hide under a rock, one will hide near a pond, the third one will hide near a chest on the seaside. Keep walking back and forth between two screens until all three hiding places show up. When you find all the three faeries, they will lift the enchantment on the forest.

After the talk, go east and lift the stone to access the dungeon. When the entrance collapses, the Maku Tree suggests you to check Nayru's home, that is on the other side of Lynna Village, in the north-east. In the north part of Lynna Village you can now meet Bipin and Blossom with their child. Enter the house and talk to everyone. Name the child anyway you like.

Continue to Nayru's house and talk with Impa. Push the statue and go into the hidden room and down the stairs. Inside the hidden cellar, you'll find a glowing item: it's the File:Zelda Oracles Harp of Ages.png Harp of Ages. You'll be teached the File:Zelda Oracles Tune of Echoes.png Tune of Echoes. Leave the house. After a short talk with the Maku Tree, equip the Harp and play it. Enter the portal next to the house.

During Ambi's age, talk to all the Deku Scrubs in the Deku Forest. One of them has a secret for another Deku Scrub who lives in the Natzu region in Holodrum. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and find a cave in the middle of the Natzu region (exact location depends on your animal friend). The Deku Scrub inside will give you a Seed Sadtchel upgrade, but only if your seed satchel is full with 20/50 seeds per type. Then, he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Farore and tell her the Deku secret: the Seed Satchel will be upgraded in this game, too.

--- You're back in Ambi's Age. Go to Lynna City. Enter the house of the postman, show him the Poe Clock, he'll take it and you'll get a File:Zelda Oracle Stationary.png Stationary. Leave the house and continue to the palace gates where you can meet Ralph again who want to save Nayru. Go to the west side of town. Enter the small house and talk to the hand. You'll exchange the Stationary for a File:Zelda Oracle Stink Bag.png Stink Bag. Now you can leave town to the south-west towards the forest.

Talk to the all the people in the Deku Forest to learn that there are special seeds in the woods.

Continue to the north and go down some stairs. There are some enemies there like Keeses, Zols and Hardhat Beetles. First move down the right block of three blocks-formation left, then move the block west from the four blocks-formation right. Move the next block south. Go around to the three blocks-formation and move the block south and east. Get a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed from the chest.

Go back up follow the northwest path winding south to the seaside. Burn the tree using an Ember Seed. Climb down the stairs. Take the fourth File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart. Your heart containers should be raised to five now.

Back to the surface, continue west. Burn the tree and follow the path. The Deku Scrubs will offer a small shield for different prices, from 50 down to 10 Rupees. At the end of the path enter the cave. Lift the stone underground to the left and open the chest for 30 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Blue Rupee.png Rupees. If you have no wooden shield yet, follow that way until you reach another stairset. Go up there. Talk to the bush to buy a File:Zelda Oracles L-1 Shield.png Wooden Shield for 10 rupees. Go back to the chest then. Underground, follow the south path. When you're back at the overworld, be careful since Spiny Beetle hides under a bush. Use the sword to take the seed from the tree: you get 18 File:Zelda Oracles Mystery Seed.png Mystery Seeds. Use one Mystery Seed on the Owl Statue to find out what it do.

Now that you have the seeds that Ambi is looking for, start backtracking towards Ambi's Palace. A soldier will help you. The Queen will take all of your mystery seeds and reward you with 10 File:Zelda Oracles Bomb.png Bombs. The guards will then escort you to the palace exit. Even if you're left without Mystery Seeds, you'll find some under bushes later.

Now you have to go back to the center of the Deku Forest. Blow up the entrance of the building you see here with a Bomb. Enter the door to get into the Wing Dungeon.

Wing Dungeon

Dungeon, part 1

This is your second real dungeon. Use the Mystery Seeds you find for the Owls to get hints about the dungeon. Destroy the jars by lifting them with the Power Bracelet. When you re-enter the room, the jars and seeds reappear. If you run out of hearts while you're in the dungeon, leave the dungeon and destroy the bushes for two hearts each time.

Equip the Wooden Shield and head up. Use the Wooden Shield against the Spiked Beetles here. When they lie on the back, hit them with your sword. When all three Spiked Beetles are slain, head left to the next room. Move the colorful cube as follows: three east, one south, one west, one north, then west into the hole; it should have a red top here. Go through the next door. Push the blocks to get away then go east and bomb the wall. Go through that hole and open the chest to get the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map.

Go back to the west and this time north through the door. Go west then. Avoid the Sparks here and go to the next room west. Defeat the Keeses and Pig Warrior|Blue Pig Warriors here and a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key falls down. Take it and backtrack to the entrance.

Use the Small Key in the Spiked Beetles room. Kill the Ropes and bomb the southern wall (see picture). Go down there and through a side-view passage. Climb right on the ladders to the first platform and use the moving block to get to the second platform. On the other screen stay a little bit before the Thwomp. When it comes down and goes up afterwards, run through. Get to the moving platform to reach the ladder. In the next room defeat all enemies and open the chest for another File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Go back to the room with the wall you've bombed.

Push the southernmost block now sideways and go through the passage. Open the chest to get the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass.

Go through the door, defeat both Blue Pig Warriors and use the Small Key in the west to go through another door. Jump into the mine cart. Go north to get to the miniboss.

Miniboss: Swoop

Swoop.

Swoop flies around. Stay on the blue border tiles and, when he's falling down trying to hit you, attack him with your sword. Beware: if he hits the yellow floor (as opposed to the blue edges) the piece where he lands falls out.

When this is done about five times, he starts to bump; this means you can hit two times in a row, but he'll hit you once. When he got hit about ten times he'll be defeated.

Dungeon, part 2

When the battle is won, take the fairy and go to the next room. There are two entrances that lead to different staircases: choose the north one. If you want, you can go through the south one, but it's just the room where you would have fallen if Swoop cracked the floor above.

You'll come out a floor below. Go through the southern door and follow the path. Go through the door and in the next room go up the stairs. You come out in a side-view room where, after avoiding the Thwomp, you can get the File:Zelda Oracles Rocs Feather.png Roc's Feather. This item allows you to jump.

Go to the west and jump the first step up (avoid the Thwomp). When the Thwomp comes down again, jump on it. When it goes up, jump left to the small passage to gain 30 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Blue Rupee.png Rupees. If you want, you can jump to the overhang to the right of the Thwomp by using it as a platform but there seems to be nothing (see picture).

Hit the Switch with the Sword.

When you're back, use the Roc's Feather to jump over the colored block two times until it becomes red and the doors open. Be fast, or else the floor will crack. Go through the eastern door. Jump over the holes and jump in the Mine Cart. While it is running, hit the switch with your Sword so that you can land in the same room. Bomb up the eastern wall and defeat all enemies there to find a chest with a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Go back into the previous room and push the dice west, north, east, north to open the barrier. Jump into the mine cart once more. After defeat the Peahats, jump over the right tiles until they get the colors of the left stones. Take the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key that falls from the ceiling. Continue west and up the stairs.

Open the Key Block to the right and walk along the path. Instead of the cart, jump down on the south-west side. Go south and jump over the holes. There's another colored field: jump over it until it is blue, then go back to the cart. When you arrive, jump over the hole to the right and open the chest to receive a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed. Jump back and go north.

Defeat all enemies here, lift the southeast jar and push (not lift) the east jar to the switch. Use the feather to jump when you have to. When the door is opened, go through. Go to the south and defeat all enemies. Copy the figure to the right on the marked floor. You only can move the statues with a color corresponding to the square you can jump over. Grab the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key that falls down.

Go north and through the eastern door. You'll come out in a room that is all red. Change the colors by jumping over the button in the middle and defeat quickly the enemies. Repeat this until all are destroyed. Open the chest for the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key.

Go back one room and open the north door. Avoid the Sparks as good as you can and go through the path to the boss door. Walk through and you're in a room with stairs, an Owl Statue and four jars. Climb up the stairs to the boss room.

Boss: Head Thwomp

The Owl Statue gives you a hint: hit the red face with "something that smokes", that is the bombs.

Now you have to fight the boss of the Wing Dungeon, Head Thwomp. It consists of four faces: a green, blue, violet and red face. Try to throw bombs from above into the red face, that is the only face that takes damage.

  • Red face: the boss can't attack, takes damage (the Boss drops a heart)
  • Blue face: the boss throws circulating fireballs (stand below the boss to not get hit)
  • Violet face: the boss falls down but doesn't get hit and fireballs fall from the ceiling
  • Green face: the boss throws a few fireballs out (stay on the edge to be far out of range)

If you do nothing and wait, the boss also throws a few fireballs out (stay on the bottom of the edge and get cover from a stone). When it's over, every second time a bomb lies around; instead of exploding, you can pick it up and it refills four of your bombs.

Try to throw the first bombs while Head Thwomp's face is violet, and it will fall into the red face. After getting damage, it will then spin faster; throw the second bomb when it's blue. Now it will spin faster and backwards; throw the third bomb when it's blue again, twice.

When you've hit the boss four times, he'll finally fall down to his doom and leave two ladders and a File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container. Take it and go down the right ladder. Enter the room to the right and take the File:Zelda Oracles Ancient Wood.png Ancient Wood.

Crescent Island and Moonlit Grotto

As soon as you exit from the previous dungeon, the Maku Tree contacts you again. She says that you should go south to the Crescent Island to find the Echoing Howl.

After coming out of the Wing Dungeon, leave the woods and go back towards Lynna Village. Take a detour: north from the forest and west of the village, jump over the hole using the Roc's Feather and head north. You can find a Soft Soi} and a Heart Container.

Follow the path as north as possible. Lift the four stones with your Power Bracelet. Take out your Shovel and dig in the middle spot of the cross to reveal the level 4 Soft Soil. If you want, you can plant your Gasha Seed here.

Go down in on the left side and left. Enter the cave. Use your Roc's Feather and Power Bracelet to get the fifth File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart. Beware: both darker floor tiles may collapse. Take the way on the left side back and out. Continue to Lynna Village.

Travel in time to Zelda's age. Explore the eastern portion of the Faeries Woods with the Roc's Feather: you can now reach a chest with 50 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Blue Rupee.png Rupees.

During Zelda's age, visit the mayor in Lynna Village. His mother has a secret for the mayor in Horon Village. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and visit the village mayor there. He will give you a Ring Box upgrade. Then, he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Farore and tell her Ruul's secret: the Ring Box will be upgraded in this game, too.

If Link owned a single ring L-1 box, the upgrade changes it to a three-rings L-2 box; if he owned a L-2 box already, the upgrade changes it to a five-rings L-3 box.

During Zelda's age, go back to the collapsed entrance of Wing Dungeon in the Faeries Woods. A great faerie is now there, and she will ask you to tell a secret to another faerie inside the Temple of Seasons, behind the fountain. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and explore the Temple. The faerie there will give you a ring. Back in Horon Village, Vasu the Jeweler can reveal that it is the Heart Ring L-1. Ask a ring secret to the Red Snake. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to the Red Snake there and tell him the ring secret: the Heart Ring L-1 will be added to your collection in this game, too.

During Ambi's age, go to the Lynna coast and get to the extreme west. Jump over a hole using the Roc's feather. A girl there will ask you to tell a secret to a man who went to Holodrum. In Farore's book at the Hall of Secret, this is recorded as "pirate's secret". Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and look for the pirates. On the west coast, one of them says that one guy is missing. Go to Subrosia to the pirates' hideout. One of them will tell you a secret, but only if you hold exactly 777 ore chunks (777 is the lucky number in Japan). When you do so, he will give you a Bomb bag upgrade. Then, he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Farore and tell her the pirate's secret: the Bomb Bag will be upgraded in this game, too.

If your bomb bag could hold 10 bombs, the upgrade allows to carry 30; if it could carry 30 already, now it can carry 50 bombs.

From Lynna Village, go south to the coast. Two men live there: Rafton to the south-west and Cheval to the north-east. After you talk to the latter and leave, Ralph will pop in and direct you to Cheval's tomb in the future.

Go back to Lynna Village and to Zelda's age.

Back to Zelda's age, go to Yoll Graveyard. Destroy the Ghinis, so then talk to Moosh. Get to the north-west corner of the graveyard. Use Moosh to get to the end of the path and push the tombstone there. Inside the grave, use the feather to jump over the water and the power bracelet to pull out the lever as far as possible. Jump back and go up the stairs to the File:Zelda Oracles Zoras Flippers.png Zora's Flippers quickly (you can stand between the stones there to see a funny way to lose a heart). Since you use the Zora's Flippers automatically, you just can jump into the water. Swim north and along the northern side of the cave. Eventually you'll get to stairs and the File:Zelda Oracles Cheval Rope.png Cheval Rope. Swim back and leave from the entrance. Lift the stone, jump over the hole and go south.

With the Zoras Flippers you can now visit Syrup Potion Shop in the Yoll Graveyard and buy Gasha Seed and Magic Potion for 300 Rupees each.

Now you can go back to the Lynna City and back to Ambi's age.

Rafton's quest for a map

Go to the south shore Explore the area west from Raftton's home (south of the tower). Thanks to the new Zora's flippers, you can cross the water. Use the shovel on the westernmost point after clearing the stones. You'll find another hidden Gasha soil, but it's a low level spot.

Visit Rafton and give him the rope from (his) future. He starts working to build a raft, and he asks you to find a map in the meantime. When you leave, you meet Ralph again, who gives a hint about maps.

Return to the time warp. Use the Harp of Ages to go back to Zelda's age.

Here, go to the entrance to the Yoll Graveyard again. Talk to the kangaroo there[1]. She says that her name is Ricky and that she has lost her boxing gloves near the tree on the shore. Go all the way south to the seaside tree. Dig up File:Zelda Oracles Rickys Glove.png Ricky's Gloves there and bring it to her, she will thank you and let you ride in her pouch. Use her jumping ability to jump to the top of the mountain structure to the southwest, then get out of her pouch. Use the Roc's feather and the sword together and blow the man's balloon. He will introduce himself as Tingle and ask if you want to be his friend. Accept his request, and you will receive the File:Zelda Oracles Island Chart.png Island Chart.

After getting the chart, go to Ambi's age and talk to Rafton. He will tell you the raft is ready and instruct you on how to use it. Get on it, and follow the coast to the east. After a seastorm, you will land on Crescent Island.

Quest for your own belongings

After reaching Crescent Island, you will find that all of your items have been stolen by the island's inhabitants, the Tokay. In order to continue, you must get all of your items back, as they are necessary to reach the Moonlit Grotto[2]. Without your items, you can't get far. The only thing you can do is to head south to find the Tokay (Rosa in a Linked Game) with your Shovel. While not much, it lets you get past the first obstacles.

Head north to the cave, and dig through the earth obstructions. In this cave, you will have to approach from the north. This Tokay will give you your Wooden Sword back, allowing you to reach the eastern part of the island.

Exit the cave and go west. Push the Vine Sprout east twice, then go back to your landing spot and continue east. The Business Scrub sell the Wooden Shield for 50 Rupees, but ignore it as you can get it from a Tokay for 10 Scent Seeds later. Move the Vine Sprout in the next screen below the ledge. Continue south, then follow the coast north. Enter the hut: an annoying hypocrite thief bully Tokay refuses to return your items. You are forced to trade the Shovel for the Power Bracelet.

Walk back south along the eastern beach. Move the rock with the Power Bracelet, and head down the stairs. The second staircase brings you to the back of the Cucco Hut and get the Bombs back. Once you retrieve your Bombs, you can use them on the cracked block under the Cucco Hut to get a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed.

Back to the hypocrite bully thief, swap the Power Bracelet with the Roc's Feather and go south again, then west jumping over the holes and go north. Bomb the entrance to a cave and go in. Jump over the patches of water, using Bombs on the cracked blocks, and reach the Tokay with the Zora's Flippers. This allows you to swim in the water again.

Switch to the Power Bracelet and re-enter the same cave. Move the rocks at the north-west corner, and dive into the water. This will eventually lead to the stairs that reach the central plateau, and where you can retrieve your Seed Satchel. The Seed Satchel should have 20 Mystery Seeds (which may be harvested if necessary) that can be used to permanently purchase the Roc's Feather; if not, you can harvest them digging the ground.

Obtain both the Roc's Feather (using 10 Mystery Seeds) and Power Bracelet. This lets you move through the south cave (which is one screen down and west from the other cave), and speak with the Tokay carrying your Harp of Ages. As you return to the Cucco Hut, make sure that all three Vine Sprouts are near the associated strange wall.

Obtaining the Scent Seeds is the main reason for the travel to Zelda's age.

Head to the area between the Cucco Hut and Trading Hut. One wall on the left may be bombed. This leads to the Wild Tokay Minigame, where you need to throw food at each Tokay on the left and right. Completing the game rewards you with a File:Zelda Oracles Scent Seedling.png Scent Seedling. This Scent Seedling should be given to the Tokay found at the North of the island.

Now return to the Cucco Hut and warp to the Zelda's age. Go down and enter the Hut. Trade the Stink Bag for the File:Zelda Oracle Tasty Meat.png Tasty Meat. With the vines in place, you can reach the Scent Tree. So make your way to it and get File:Zelda Oracles Scent Seed.png 18 Scent Seeds from it. The Scent Seeds allow you to purchase the Power Bracelet and let you have all necessary items.

Return to the Past and buy the Power Bracelet for 10 Scent Seeds from the hypocrite bully thief. Exit and reenter and you can buy back the Wooden Shield for another 10 Scent Seeds.

Towards the next dungeon

With the Roc's Feather, Shovel and Power Bracelet, you have everything you need to reach the Moonlit Grotto. Return to where you retrieved your Harp of Ages, and enter the time portal at the end of the path to reach Zelda's age. Go north to a crossing that has two paths (north and east). Go east and you will get to a cave where a Great Fairy heals you completely. The north path (full of Sand Crabs) leads to the Moonlit Grotto, where you can find the next Essence.

  1. It can be argued that Ricky is female, because a kangaroo's pouch is part of female genitals. Nevertheless, since real bears have no wings (unlike Moosh) and Dimitri is a fictional reptilian, the discussion about Ricky's pouch and gender is pointless.
  2. "Grotto" is a mispelling of the Italian word "grotta" or the French word "grotte". Both terms simply mean "cave".

Moonlit Cave

This is the rotating platform.

Use a Bomb on the broken block to go west. Play the Harp of Ages to kill the Pols Voice and make a chest appear. Inside is the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map.

Go back and continue north. Kill the Mini-Moldorm here to open the east door. In the next room there are two Iron Masks which can only be defeated from behind, due to the Mask protecting them from front. You can ignore them and destroy the first Crystal of four.

Go north and enter the rotating platform, which points you to the east. Destroy the block near the four statues with a bomb, destroy another block west throwing another Bomb over the fence. Go north and push a block south. Throw another Bomb over that fence. Now push a south block to the north to reach the second Crystal. Destroy it and move the right block north. Move the statue east twice, north twice, west and south to let a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key appear.

Take the Small Key, backtrack three rooms and open the north door. In the next room, fall down the pit to the basement. Defeat the enemies here or ignore them and go south. Kill the Mini-Moldorm to open a door south. Play the Harp of Ages to destroy the Pol Voices, which open another door north. Go north throught the other exit and up the stairs, then destroy the third Crystal.

Return to the basement and kill the Mini-Moldorm throwing a Bomb over the fences. Exit the room through the newly opened door south. In the end room, throw a Bomb over the fence to turn the switch to red, which awaken an Armos. So kill it with a Bomb (which is easier said than done) or using Mystery Seeds (that have random effects); the reward for killing it is the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass. Now take the stairs up to the ground floor.

Go west and move the northmost block north and the two other blocks left and right. Another File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key will appear. Take it and go back; jump off the ledge and go back to the Wheel Room from the west. Enter the rotating platform which points you to the south. Return to the Wheel Room from the west again and this time the platform will point you to the north. Watch out for the Like Likes, which like to eat your shield. Go east and step on the button to fight four Armos. Kill them all with Bombs and/or Mystery seeds, which may take some time. When they are all defeated, take the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key and go back west. Open up the door with the Small Key.

Shield yourself from the Flying Tiles until all Tiles are wasted, then all doors will open so follow the passage to a chest with File:Zelda Oracles Middle Blue Rupee.png 30 Rupees inside. Now go back north and open the door. Continue to the north-east room. Kill all enemies there to receive the File:Zelda Oracles Seed Shooter.png Seed Shooter. Go back and fire a Ember Seed with the Seed Shooter on the torch in the middle of room to open the south door.

Now you have to return to the Wheel Room again and take a tour to get to the northern path. Use the Seed Shooter to destroy the fourth and last Crystal. Go back south and you'll see that the rotation platform has disappeared and now a chest is there. Take the File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed out of it.

Go fall down to the basement again, then east. The Rotation platform fell down to this room, so now you can access new rooms. Go south; push three block on the east side into the pit, use the Seed Shooter to light up two torches to let another File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed appear. Take it and go west, then get back to the rotating room. Continue all the way north to meet the Mini-Boss Subterror.

Miniboss: Subterror

Equip the Shovel and the Sword. When Subterror comes at you, then dig him up and slash at him until he digs back under sand. Repeat this a few times and he will be defeated, but beware: the more you hit him, the faster he will become.

After defeating the mini-boss, exit from the west door and follow the passage north. Kill two Mini-Moldorm and then push the block so to align it with the three other blocks in the room to let a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key appear. Take it and return to the Wheel Room.

Go west, north and hit the Crystal Ball. Use the Seed Shooter to hit the switch and make a bridge appear. Cross the bridge, hit the second crystal sphere so to rotate the barrier accordingly. Shoot the switch again to open the way to a chest with File:Zelda Oracles Middle Blue Rupee.png 20 Rupees inside. Open the door and go north.

Hit the Crystal Ball once with Seed Shooter and hit the switch. Pass the bridge and hit the switch again. Go north and move the lone block away. Return to the Wheel Room and take the east path. Step on the button once then get off; move on the button again and shoot the switch diagonally with the Seed Shooter: the door will open. Go north and take the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key from the chest. Jump off the ledge and go all the way north-west. Open the Boss door to meet Shadow Hag.

Equip the Seed Shooter and the Sword. The Boss will split up in four shadows which you must avoid. After a while the shadows will merge, but you can't attack while facing her, so you need to turn your back on her (while she spews some Moths) and shot the Seed Shooter at the opposite wall. The seed will bounce back and hit the Shadow Hag behind you. She will then split up again in four shadows. Repeat it a few times (perhaps you need figure out the timing to how to shoot her from behind) and she will be history.
Collect the File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container and go to the next room. Take the File:Zelda Oracles Echoing Howl.png Echoing Howl:

Meet the last of three Animals.

After leaving the Moonlit Grotto|Moonlit Cave, you will meet two Tokay near Dimitri, who is washed up on the shore. Talk to the Tokay, let them eat Ember seeds, and they will leave. Dimitri will offer his services for now, and let you ride his back to return to Labrynna.

If you go east with Dimitri you get to a small Island with a Soft Soil there. It is the best soft soil in the game, the only one that can produce 5th-level rings. Make sure you plant a Gasha seed there.

In a linked game, Princess Zelda will come to Labrynna, but she will be abducted by Vire and brought to the Tower Ruins. Link has to climb the tower, playing the same way as in Donkey Kong. The Princess will reward Link with the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 38.pngBlue Joy Ring (n.38). Anyway, in Oracle of Ages Link may already have found the Gold Joy Ring (n.39), that trumps this one.


Return to Lynna City and leave to the west. Instead of entering the Faeries Woods, go north. Give the Tasty Meat to the hungry trader to receive File:Zelda Oracle Doggie Mask.png Doggie Mask. Return to Lynna City and enter the southern house. Give the Doggie Mask to Mamamu Yan and she will in return give you File:Zelda Oracle Dumbbell.png Dumbbell.

In the forest of Time, enter the cave at the extreme south. Use the Seed Shooter to hit the Crystal Ball. Climb up the stairs and talk with Tingle again to receive an upgrade for your Seed Satchel, which will now carry 50 Seeds each instead of only 20.

Nuun Highlands

To progress, you will need a File:Zelda Oracles Strange Flute.png Strange Flute. One of three possible flutes can be obtained, and is associated with the animal companion:

  • Go to Nuun Highlands before getting any flute: Moosh will be your companion.
  • Purchase a flute from the Lynna City Shop for 150 Rupees: Dimitri will be your companion.
  • Win a flute at the shooting gallery (score at least 50 pts.): Ricky will be your companion.

The choice (or lack-thereof) remains the same for the rest of the game, as well as any linked game you start. It also affects the region east of Symmetry City, requiring your companion's assistance to traverse.

Nuun Highlands

Strange Flute

Depending on which Flute you will get, the Area of Nuun Highlands will look different, so there is three different walkthrough for each Animal.


To reach Symmetry City (known as Symmetry Village 400 years earlier), head north-west of Lynna City. Use the Seed Shooter to burn away the tree, and hit the switch to extend the bridge.

In Nuun Highlands there are two new monsters called Buzz Blob and River Zora. Buzz Blobs cannot be attacked with the sword and River Zoras spit fireball at you. Proceed north. The way to the builders supervisor Mutoh will depend on which animal wil join you. Still, your movement ability will be restricted to a specific path (few screens) that invariably leads you to the bridge building site.

Return south, and a fairy will ask for your help to find an animal within their woods. Go to the Fairies Woods for the animal. Repeatedly scroll up and down between two screens to find the animal. Once you find him, he will identify the flute as belonging to him (File:Zelda Oracles Dimitris Flute.png Dimitri's Flute or File:Zelda Oracles Rickys Flute.png Ricky's Flute) or provide you with one (File:Zelda Oracles Mooshs Flute.png Moosh's Flute). With the flute, go back to Nuun highlands, summon your animal companion, and search for the three workers east of the bridge.

Return to Mutoh and talk again with him. He asks you to get the three workers back.

In the middle of the Nuun Highlands you can find a cave with the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 24.png Light Ring L-1 (different location for each animal). On the north edge (identical for all three animals) there is a cave with a healing Great Fairy and a lv.4Gasha spot. Regardless of your animal companion, the three workers are in similar parts of the Highlands:

  1. more or less in the center;
  2. to the north, near the Great Fairy cave and the Gasha soil;
  3. to the south-east, near the cave with the magic ring.

  1. Go right and smash the bush. Ride Moosh over the holes north to the first worker. Talk with him and he will return to Mutoh.
  2. Go all the way north; check the Great Fairy cave and dig in the west for the Gasha spot. Leave to the east to find the second worker.
  3. Navigate to the east, then to the south. The cave on the way holds the aforementioned ring. Continue up the plateau and talk with the third worker.

The region is made of three north-south waterways.

  1. Go down and right up the waterfall. Talk to the first worker and go back down.
  2. If you go up the second waterway you can get to the Great Fairy cave and continue to the gasha soil. Go to the east and up the eastmost waterfall. Talk to the second worker.
  3. Go to the south-east corner and talk with the second worker. Go up the waterfall into cave for the aforementioned ring.

  1. Go right and down. Jump on the ledge, go up and smash the bushes with Ricky. Talk to the first worker; he will run back to Mutoh.
  2. Return to the carpenter and go up all the way to the ledge. Jump on it and dig for the gasha soil. Go right and down to find the second worker.
  3. From the second worker, continue all the way east (the Great Fairy cave is visible on the way), the go to all the way south. Jump on the ledge, go up and enter the cave for the aforementioned ring. On the ledge above the cave you can talk to the last worker.


Symmetry City

When the bridge is built, cross and head north to Symmetry City, which is apparently in ruins (it should not be, because it was saved 400 years earlier). Go left and get File:Zelda Oracles Gale Seed.png 18 Gale Seed from the Gale Tree. To dispel this dystopia[1] on the City, cut the grass next to the Gale Tree, and use the time portal to travel to Ambi's age 400 years before.

The girl in the center building tells you their current problem: the Tuni Nut was cracked and needs to be repaired. While you're there, you can head downstairs and exchange the dumbbell for a File:Zelda Oracle Cheesy Mustache.png Cheesy Mustache. Leave the house and explore the village. Talk with everybody to receive the File:Zelda Oracles Cracked Tuni Nut.png Cracked Tuni Nut.

Exit the city to the west, and reach the top of the peaks. Swim to the end, dive, and locate Tokkey. To receive the File:Zelda Oracles Tune of Currents.png Tune of Currents, you must play the Harp of Ages in front of him.


After you learn the Tune of Currents from Tokkey, you can soon realize that there are no passages towards Restoration Wall. The owl statue tells you that the landscape changed over 400 years.

  1. (Ambi's age) From Tokkey's home, go south, then west and play the Harp at the dead-end: you can collect a File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Heart Piece. Back to Ambi's age, continue to the Owl Statue. South from it, play the Harp.
  2. (Zelda's age) Follow the path south. You can see a ledge on the way, but it will become accessible in a later chapter. Where you see a climbing vine, climb the nearby stairs instead, lift the rock and use the Harp to open the time gate.
  3. (Ambi's age) Enter the nearby cave, take the east exit, and push the red boulder there: the river will change course. Backtrack to the cave entrance and to Zelda's age (using the Harp, obviously).
  4. (Zelda's age) Climb the vine you saw earlier. A sign says: "throw nothing in the water". The only item you can throw is a bomb: try it! A faerie will appear; answer honestly her question, and she will give you a Bomb bag upgrade: you can now carry 30 bombs (50 in a linked game). Now go back to Ambi's age.
  5. (Ambi's age) Push the sapling (that will become a vine in 400 year) to the east. Go and check in the future.
  6. (Zelda's age) Climb the vine to the new area, then continue north-east and until you find another Time Gate. Play the Harp there.
  7. (Ambi's age) Backtrack to the pond, but continue south instead of west. In the southmost screen, play the Harp.
  8. (Zelda's age) Open a chest for a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha seed, then go back to Ambi's age.
  9. (Ambi's age) Continue east and onwards, and you will reach a signpost that reads: "Restoration wall"!

Climb Restoration Wall to find Patch. He will play a repair minigame called Patch's Crazy Cart, where you have to push Hardhat Beetles into a hole. The only concern is a cart that will smash against the nut, which can be redirected by standing on a switch just before it strikes. When the four beetles are pushed into the hole, the repair is complete and you will get the repaired File:Zelda Oracles Tuni Nut.png Tuni Nut. Bring the Tuni Nut back to Symmetry City on the altar.

You may now return to Zelda's age, where the nightmarish illusions have been dispelled (how and by whom?). Without the illusions, you can now enter the dungeon under the former volcano.

  1. A dystopia is a plot flaw in time-travel fiction. It assumes that an event did and did not happen at the same time in history, and therefore that two different futures exist later at the same time: a "normal" one and a "dystorted" one (hence the name dys-topia, a distorted location that is never and nowhere).

Skull Dungeon

Dungeon, part 1

When you enter the Skull Dungeon, you will need a Small Key before you go to the east wing. Head north, and follow the rooms to the west. In the second one you must kill all enemies to open the door. Turn to the north, being careful as you jump across the lava pit. Cross the room to the west exit, keeping watch for the incoming Spark. When you enter the first south room, push the eastern-most block downward to get the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass from the chest.

In the last room, after dealing with the monsters, jump over the lava, and push the block onto the designated square, blue facing up. The shortest path is pushing the cube down four times, right, up, left, down, and left twice. When you complete this, you will obtain the first File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Backtrack to the first lava room (take the shortcut on the right), and continue east. In the room with the locked door, make the series of jumps toward the center. When you jump on the center floor, push a block left to make the jump across the lava safer and jump across. Push the next block to the right, and you can now reach the door.

After the first door is a room with four Stalfos, one Spark and an east exit leading to the first minecart. You should first get the map. Hit the switch and enter the minecart to reach the chest containing the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map, then return. Return the switch to the normal position and ride to the southern end. On the way south hit the switch to change the track. To get the key from this room, use the Seed Shooter to hit the switch. When you get the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key, enter the cart to stop in the middle room. Unlock the door on the right, and exit to the right.

You will see the first Blade Trap. Move right and quickly step back to safely spring the trap, then jump over the lava to reach the north exit. Equip the Power Bracelet, and pull the lever until the lava flow stops. Quickly cross the floor to reach the next north exit. Defeat the four yellow Stalfos, so that the west door opens. The enemies are best handled by cornering them, and striking them as they land. To unlock the left door in the room after the Hardhat Beetles, jump over the tiles to match the pattern on the right.

Run past the Blade Traps before they hit, and defeat two Shrouded Stalfos that will hinder you. You now need to get the block into position. First, spring the trap, and circle around the block as they retract. Push the block down two squares. Spring the trap once more, and quickly push the block left before the traps or floor catches you. The gate opens once the block is in position, allowing you to use the minecart.

The minecart stops at the north of the dungeon. Head east first. Use the Seed Shooter to hit the switch to reveal the chest; you can do so either on or off the moving platform. Get the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key and move two rooms west.

Use the Small Key on the key block, open the barrier, then return east, and enter the second minecart. The minecart will enter a room with a long track and three Stalfos at the top. Equip the Seed Shooter and destroy all three Stalfos before you reach the end. This allows you to continue to the left.

Jump across the moving platforms, and go south. Jump onto the colored platforms and match them with the block shown on top, and collect the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key that falls down. Return north, unlock the Key Block, and board the minecart. When you reach the end of the track, head through the left door.

Miniboss: Armos Warrior

The Armos Warrior will boast about his mighty sword and mighty shield. In the first phase, it will control the sword and fling it towards you. Its sword travels in a straight line, and if guided correctly, can be used to hit the Armos Warrior. After three hits, the sword and shield shatter.

The warrior can now be defeated through conventional means, but it is safest to attack after it charges and hits a wall. Exit through the south door after defeating the Armos Warrior.

Dungeon, part 2

There is only one path south of the miniboss, which you will follow until you see a cracked wall. Drop a bomb at the crack, and go through the hole. You enter a room where you need to change each square from blue to read. With abbreviated directions, one possible route is: L, U6, R, D2, R, D2, L, D, R2, D, R5, U2, L2, D, L2, U, R, U, R2, U, R, U2, L2, D2, L, U2, L3, D, R, D, L, D. This reveals the chest which contains the File:Zelda Oracles Switch Hook.png Switch Hook.

Leave to the west, where you can use the Switch Hook on the diamond. Backtrack to the cart room, but continue on foot to the north. Use the Switch Hook on the diamond, exit south and east. Continue using the Switch Hook on the first diamond. Walk onto the button, and use the Switch Hook on the other diamond. Exit and follow the path to the down staircase.

Head north and remove the Ropes. Switch with the diamond from the bottom, then switch with the vase. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond onto the button (which will require multiple uses of the Switch Hook). Exit through the newly opened door, then move left. Cross the lava using the Switch Hook on the vases. If you slip, exit and re-enter the room. In the next room, jump onto the center tile to make the Gels visible (and vulnerable). After you eliminate them, continue west past the lava and blade traps.

The next room requires changing all tiles from blue to red. Here is one possible solution with abbreviated directions: L, D, R, D3, L2, U5, R2, U, L, U, R, U, L2, D, L, U, L9, D2, R, D3, L, D3, R, U2, R, D2, R7, U2, L2, D, L, U, L, D, L, U, L, U, L, U3, R, U, R, D, R2, U, R2, D, R, D, L6, D, R, D, R, U, R4, D, L2. Open the chest for a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key and exit north.

Jump across the moving platforms to reach the stairs. You will need to first switch with the diamond, move onto the second platform, and jump across the lava to reach the stairs. There is also a Hardhat Bettle, which may be a problem, but easily handled. Since you do not yet have the Boss Key, climb the stairs. The stairs lead to a side view platform-jumping room. It is easiest to switch with the pots, but you can also jump over them. After climbing the stairs, unlock the keyhole-block, and use the Switch Hook on the diamond.

You are now at a series of three lava puzzle rooms. The first one requires pulling a lever up as far as you can, and making a run for the other side of the lava. You can barely make it across, as the lava starts when you are just about to reach the end. The second room requires pulling the lever to turn off the lava. Cross the open area, until you reach the first pot; switch or lift it, and stand on that square (the lava won't enter the tiles that originally contained pots). Switch with the remaining pots until you reach the top-left corner, then do a diagonal jump.

In the final room of the three, you will need to plan your approach. If you fail, leave and re-enter the room. Climb the steps, lift the first pot, and push the second pot to the right. Switch with the first pot in the upper-right corner, and push the second pot to the top. Switch with the pot to the left, and push the other pot onto the button. Switch back to the upper-right corner, and open the chest to get the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key. Now jump off the ledge and return to the stairs.

Boss: Eyesoar

Eyesoar

You will face Eyesoar, which will engage without introduction. Eyesoar will defend itself with four orbiting eyes that will block attacks, and resists direct attacks. If the outer eyes are destroyed, they are quickly regenerated.

It is vulnerable to the Switch Hook, but it must connect directly with the large central eye. To reach it, you need to damage the outer eyes to create an opening, or approach it when it moves its eyes further out. When the Switch Hook connects, the outer eyes will scatter chaotically, allowing you to inflict damage with your sword. The eyes will attempt to reform, but won't resume the orbit until all four eyes are in place. When the Eyesoar is destroyed, pick up the File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container and head north and collect the File:Zelda Oracles Burning Flame.png Burning Flame.

West Rolling Ridge and Crown Dungeon

Outside the Skull Dungeon, the Maku Tree will contact you and tell of another Essence of Time north of Nayru's House.

During Zelda's age, go to the Ember tree. An old woman there will ask you to tell a secret to a man living under the clock shop in Holodrum. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and dig behind the clock shop in Horon Village. An old man in there will challenge you to kill several enemies within 30 seconds (some magic ring can be useful). If you succeed, he will grant you a sword upgrade. Then, he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Farore and tell her the clock shop secret: the Sword will be upgraded in this game, too.

If you owned a L-1 Wooden Sword, the upgrade turns it into the L-2 Noble Sword; if you carried the Noble Sword already, now it becomes the L-3 Master Sword.

Go to Lynna City in the past. One screen down from the Shooting Gallery, stand on a certain position (see screenshot) and play the Tune of Currents to reach the basement of the shop where you can buy the File:Zelda OraclesL-2 Ring Box.PNG L-2 Ring Box and File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seeds for 300 Rupees each. There is even a File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart for 500 Rupees. Once you buy the Piece of Heart, a File:Zelda Oracles Ring 00.png Magic Ring will replace it for 300 Rupees. If you buy everything in the basement, then the shop owner will turn it in a Treasure Chest minigame.

Warp to Zelda's age and continue the trading sequence. Two comedians stand near the river; talk to the right man to trade Cheesy Mustache for the File:Zelda Oracle Funny Joke.png Funny Joke. Return to Ambi's age to this point again and enter the hut; trade the Funny Joke with the depressed man inside for a File:Zelda Oracle Touching Book.png Touching Book. Now go slashing some enemies until you meet Maple randomly to trade the Touching Book for the File:Zelda Oracle Magic Oar.png Magic Oar. With this, go to Rafton (the one who made the raft for you) and trade it for File:Zelda Oracle Sea Ukulele.png Sea Ukulele. Get to the east of Lynna Village, and continue east to the seaside. Use the Switch Hook to cross down to a cave. Enter it and give the Sea Ukulele to the Old Zora; you will receive a File:Zelda Oracle Broken Sword.png Broken Sword. Do you remember Patch from Restoration Wall? Bring the broken Sword to him to let him repair it. Upon finishing the Patch's Crazy Cart minigame you will receive the File:Zelda Oracle Noble Sword.png Noble Sword.

From the Skull Dungeon, you can easily head back to Nayru's house. However, the path to the north appears to be a dead end. To pass it, you need to travel back to Ambi's age through the nearby portal, and then use the Switch Hook to cross the chasm. A Soft Soil is found in the bushes south-west of the cave.

The Gorons of Rolling Ridge have one problem in each age. During Ambi's age, the Goron Elder got trapped under some rocks, and you need a Bomb Flower from Zelda's age to rescue him. During Zelda's age, the Great Moblin built a fortress near the caves and stole all Bomb Flowers; you need Pegasus Seeds from Ambi's age to get through the fortress.

During Zelda's age, walk through the ground floor and get the lower staircase. On the first floor, bomb the wall on the right, even though there is no crack to see. Enter the hole and get the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 39.png Gold Joy Ring from the chest. Go back and continue left; ignore the staircase up for now and go to the staircase leading down to a chest with 50 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Red Rupee.png Rupees. Now go back down and up the other staircase. Use a bomb on the wall on the right: on the other side is a File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Pieces of Heart.

Upon exiting the Goron Caves, you can see another staircase going down. It leads to a switch with a bridge; you learn a hint about a fast speed seed, and can activate the bridge for 30 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Blue Rupee.png Rupees. You can attempt to enter the Moblin's Keep|Great Moblin Palace, but will fall through the floor because of a trap. Inside the trap, if you take the first upward ladder to an exit, you can find File:Zelda Oracles Ring 05.png Armor Ring L-1 being in a lone chest. Now go back down and dive to the right. Once you climb up the ladder in the next room you'll come across cracked Blocks which you need to destroy to leave this place.

You need Pegasus Seeds, and they can be found during Ambi's age. In the extreme south-east corner of Rolling Ridge is a rock that can be lifted to reveal a time portal. The cave near it has a Great Fairy to heal your wounds. Travel to Ambi's age, and reach the north-west right to collect 18 File:Zelda Oracles Pegasus Seed.png Pegasus Seeds. Return to Zelda's age and enter the Moblin Palace. On the first floor of the Moblin Palace, use the Pegasus Seed as soon as the trap triggers. This lets you reach the floor in time to meet the Great Moblin, who will challenge you.

Boss: Great Moblin

The Great Moblin will toss Bomb Flowers at you, and you can defeat him by throwing them back before they explode. When the Great Moblin is defeated, the Gorons will thank you, and reward you with a File:Zelda Oracles Bomb Flower.png Bomb Flower.

Bring this Bomb Flower back to Ambi's age to rescue the Goron Elder and receive the File:Zelda Oracles Crown Key.png Crown Key. Go past the Goron Elder right and jump off to the stairs to Rolling Ridge. Return to the Ruined Keep (Zelda's age) using the Tune of Currents and enter the cave (the stairs lead to an area you visited already). As the Owl statue suggests, use one or two Pegasus Seeds to jump farther on the other platform. Continue and exit the cave. Follow the shrt path, and you stand before a closed door which can be unlocked by the Crown Key. You reached the entrance of the Crown Dungeon.

The Crown Dungeon was built in the shape of a crown. The first room is the standard entrance, followed by an arena where you need to defeat some Moblins. When you continue north, you will see a switch in the middle of the room, as well as red/blue blocks that can be toggled, but don't hit the switch yet. Instead, let's explore as deep as possible without touching any switch.

From the first switch, head west and turn north (you can explore the east wing, but you will reach three dead ends). Defeat all Moblins to reveal the down staircase. In the lower floor, use the switch hook and move the diamond onto the button, then continue south. Take the staircase back to the ground floor.

Your first Small Key is located to the south. Head directly south to the end, and hit the switch. In the room to the right, you need to hit three statues within a short period to reveal the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Aim the Seed Shooter to bounce between the lower two, and use the Seed Satchel on the upper statue. Return west once you have the Small Key.

  • Switch on red

The next key is in the chest below. First, strike the switch to lower the red barrier. Cross the barrier and strike it from a distance. Proceed north, crossing the blue barrier, to eventually reach the first staircase you see. Climb down, and get the second File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key from the chest. Backtrack to the crystal switch, and strike it to return the barriers to normal.

Head north, climb the stairs on the left, and jump down from the ledge to reach the starting room's switch.

For now, keep the red blocks lowered, and continue right of the start. Descend the staircase surrounded by lowered red blocks. Strike the switch a few times to get past the barriers and descend the stairs. Cross the floating platforms, and climb the ladder. You will now be in a room with an invisible floor. Watch how the Moblins move and use that information to reach the center chest. You can also use the Seed Satchel to determine if a given square has an invisible tile or is a bottomless pit. When you reach the center chest, you will get the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Backtrack to the beginning.

Using the Cane to get another Small Key

Switch to lower blue blocks, and start exploring the east part of the dungeon. From now on, the blue barriers should be lowered if you want to explore or exit different branches of the dungeon. You can also obtain the Dungeon Map, which is located in the south-east corner of the ground floor, in the same room as the boss door.

The main item of interest is located across the blue barrier in the previous room. Enter the door you see on the left. This leads to a puzzle room where you need to move three statues onto four buttons, which is impossible. Instead, head down the stairs. To unlock the west door, use the Seed Shooter to strike the empty burners with Ember Seeds.

To get the cane, stand on the button and record or remember the pattern shown (you can move back and forth as necessary). When the statues on the left match the pattern that appeared on the right, the chest will appear, and you can collect the File:Zelda Oracles Cane of Somaria.png Cane of Somaria.

Return to the ground floor. With the Cane of Somaria, you can solve the statue problem. Move three statues onto the buttons, and activate the cane to create a block on the fourth. Collect the key when the chest appears.

The next branch is found to the north of the locked door you opened, and is quickly reached by jumping from the ledge. Descend the stairs surrounded by blue tiles, get past the two pots, and descend once again. In the side-view area, use the cane to create a stepping stone to jump to the next ledge.

Use the Seed Shooter to strike the crystal switch, and cross to the north. In the last room in the branch, you need to push the statues onto the red tile. They have synchronized movement, but the other statue can be stopped by the cane. Collect the File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key, and backtrack (remember to leave the blue barrier lowered before entering the stairs).

It is time to meet the miniboss Smasher. He is located in the north-east portion of the ground floor. The pits in the path can be jumped over using Pegasus Seeds combined with the Roc's Feather.

To defeat it, pick up the ball and throw it against him. After enough hits, your opponent will fall, unlocking the north door.


Dungeon, part 2

In the north room, you can extend the bridge with the Cane of Somaria and collect the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass found in the chest. Enter the stairs at the north, and traverse the route until you reach the remaining portion of the ground floor (a crown cross on the map).

When you enter the cross at the north section of the dungeon, make sure the blue barrier is lowered before standing on it. Hit the Switch with Seed Shooter and go west, south and unlock the two Key Blocks, then raise the red barrier. From the south balcony, jump and climb on the red barrier. Proceed to the next room, jump off to the north and descend the stairs.

Shoot the switch to reach the door on the left. Get 50 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Red Rupee.png Rupees from the chest first and then descend the second staircase. Use the Cane of Somaria to create a block to climb over the platform, evade the bubble, and climb the ladder. In the final room, move all the statues around the owl, as it requested. One of many possible solutions is to move the yellow statues first, placing a block on the right of the middle statue, aligning the other statues in one column, followed by placing the blue statues then the red statues. When all statues are in place, you receive the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key.

Backtrack to the south-east corner of the ground floor and open the boss door to Smog.


Boss: Smog

The Boss is Smog and he will break himself into smaller portions to attack. To defeat Smog, you need to push blocks around in order to have them collide. You can also use the cane to place blocks of your own. While they are in small pieces, you can use the sword to stun one portion temporarily. The sword can also be used to destroy enemy bullets. If you make a major mistake, head to the button on the northwest to reset.

When all pieces converge, Smog will shoot lightning bolts (which cannot be destroyed) and approach directly. A few sword swings will destroy him, but you need to evade him to avoid a dangerous electric shock. There are four puzzles to solve and you need to destroy Smog four times. When he is defeated, get the File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container and proceed north to the File:Zelda Oracles Sacred Soil.png Sacred Soil.

East Rolling Ridge and Mermaid's Cave

The Maku Tree will tell you about another Essence of Time at Rolling Ridge. A Goron will come and tell you that a new tunnel has been made to a new part of Rolling Ridge where you can play games.

As soon as you leave the Crown Dungeon, a Goron from the East brings good, news: a tunnel to the Eastern part of Rolling Ridge was just completed.

To simplify, the main plot and the optional items will be separated.

Two Mermaid's keys

One screen to the east there are now two cave entrances: enter the new one and go down the stairs. Move the top block right, then the bottom block in the pit. Repeat this step with the next group of blocks. Exit the cave and follow the path (one screen east and one north). Enter the first cave you see.

Descend the stairs and step on the button to open the bridge. When you exit at Rolling Ridge Base, follow the path until you see a small tree. If you burn it with Ember Seeds and talk with the Old Man, then you have to pay him 100 Rupees for destroying the door. That reminds of The Legend of Zelda 1, where you had to pay for destroying door, too.

Continue north. If you need some healing, go in the left cave to grab some Fairy. Then, choose the right cave. A Goron in front of a staircase will only allow brothers to pass. Play the Goron Dance to receive File:Zelda Oracles Brother Emblem.png Brother Emblem. Show it to the Goron guard before the stairs. He will move from there, but ask you for help, since he is hungry. The green Goron nearby suggests to play Shooting Carts.

Go up the stairs past the Goron Guard. Swap along using the Switch Hook left, up, Go left and up the stairs. A sign directs you south towards the Shooting Carts. Outside, you can notice a small green plant far away inlet for climbing vines. It is time to travel back in time. In the next screen to the east, jump down the ridge, then go west. Slash the bush to reveal a Time Portal, so use the Harp of Ages.

Go north-west and enter the cave. Inside, use the Switch Hook to get across and climb the stairs. Exit the cave, go south, jump down and continue south. Use the Switch Hook to swap the vine sapling to the ledge where it belongs to. Play the Tune of Currents and climb up the vine. Lift the right stone to uncover a Time Portal. Enter the Cave and play Target Carts. You can win File:Zelda Oracles Rock Sirloin.png Rock Sirloin the first time, after which it is 50 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Red Rupee.png Rupees each time.

Give the Rick Sirloin to the Goron Guard and you'll receive File:Zelda Oracles Goron Vase.png Goron Vase for it. The green Goron tells you to give it to another Goron in the past. Therefore, return to Ambi's age. Go east and talk with the Stairs Guard; he will move aside and asks you for something, too: something to shown his future generation that the life is worth it. Trade the Goron Vase for File:Zelda Oracles Goronade.png Goronade.

Now, the green Goron tells you to go to the future and give the Goronade to another Goon. Return to Zelda's age once again. Enter the same cave with the green Goron and go upstairs to the Big Bang game. Give Goronade to the tired Goron, then you can play Big Bang Game. The Moving Sand Ring and some Pegasus Seeds will grant you an easy victory. When you win this game, you will get File:Zelda Oracles Old Mermaid Key.png Old Mermaid Key; if you play again, the prize will be 30 Rupees.

Having obtained the first Mermaid key during Zelda's age, you should look for the second one during Ambi's age. A Goron on the first floor says that the Gracious Goron dancer owns what you need, but the green Goron suggests you to play a different game: the Goron Shooting Gallery. Make your way to the exit at the top of this same cave; on the vine sapling screen, play the Harp of Ages and return to Zelda's age. Continue to the nearby Time Portal and travel back to Ambi's age. At the shooting gallery, you can get File:Zelda Oracles Lava Juice.png Lava Juice. You should also get File:Zelda Oracles Boomerang.PNG Boomerang either here or at Target Carts. Leave the cave, go west and jump off the ledge. Continue north, enter the cave and trade the Lava Juice for a File:Zelda Oracles Letter of Introduction.png Letter of Introduction (but only if you have the Old Mermaid Key in your possession). Now descend to the ground floor with Goron Dancing Hall; play the Goron Dance to win File:Zelda Oracles Mermaid Key.png Mermaid Key.

With both keys in your possession, you can access the local dungeon in both ages. Anyway, collect the several items first.

Biggoron secret

During Zelda's age, start from "East" exit of the tunnel connecting West and East Rolling Ridge; walk north and cross the little bridge to the west. A Goron inside the cave there will ask you to tell a secret to the Biggoron in Holodrum. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and get to the top of Goron Mountain. On the mountaintop, tell the secret to the Biggoron, and he will give you the Biggoron Sword. Then, he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Farore and tell her the Biggoron's secret: the Biggoron Sword will be available in this game, too.


Let us start from the beginning: Zelda's age, top of East Rolling Ridge.

  1. Climb the small bridge in the north-west. Lift the middle stone and play the Harp of Ages to unlock a Time Portal. Enter the Time Portal and go in the right cave. Talk with the Goron there. He wants to borrow 20 Bombs and 20 Ember Seeds from you. Say yes, but if you don't have enough, then come back again. Exit the cave and go left to discover a Soft Soil hidden under the spot surrounded by bushes (it is just a rank 3 spot). Doing that will let that digging Goron be finished with the digging, so return to the Goron again to choose either one chest, but actually both hold the same: you will get a File:Zelda Oracles Ring 30.png Red Luck Ring.
  2. Exit and return to Zelda's age. Go east, enter the cave, descend to Rolling Ridge Base, enter the Time Portal outside the dungeon entrance. Go to the south-east and burn down the tree to visit the Old Man there. Unlike the one in Zelda's age, he will give you 200 File:Zelda Oracles Big Blue Rupee.png Rupees.
  3. Now go back up to visit Goron Dancing Hall where the difficulty will be raised higher, but you can win File:Zelda Oracles Ring 26.png Bomber's Ring at Platinum Level which you can obtain only here!
  4. From the Old Man's home, go to the north-west cave. Inside Rolling Ridge, bomb the cracked blocks away to get a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed. Continue to the right and use the Switch Hook to get across, but before you go up the stairs, use the Switch Hook in the south part to a chest with 50 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Red Rupee.png Rupees.
  5. Get atop Rolling Ridge during Ambi's age. Go east and bomb the Wall. Enter it and get 100 File:Zelda Oracles Big Blue Rupee.png Rupees and leave. Slash the bushes outside and play the Tune of Currents in the corner to obtain the second-to-last File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart found ingame.
  6. Return to Ambi's age and go south-west. Jump off the ledge and enter the cave. Use the Switch Hook to swap yourself with the bush across to get 100 File:Zelda Oracles Big Blue Rupee.png Rupees from the chest.
  7. Travel to the future, enter the cave and go down one floor. Use the Switch Hook, then go right to get 10 File:Zelda Oracles Bomb.png Bombs from the Chest. Now go up two floors. Jump off to the right to get File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed from the chest.

Subrosian secret

During Zelda's age, go to the east of East Rolling Ridge, on the same screen as the Rolling Carts game. A Subrosian in that second cave will ask you to tell a secret to his brother in Subrosia. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and travel to Subrosia; the easiest way is from the portal in the north-west of Winter Woods. The Subrosian brother lives in the northern volcanoes. He will ask you to cut all the grass in his cave with just three boomerang throws; it can require several tries. Once you succeed, he will give you ten Bombchus. Then, he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Farore and tell her the Subrosian's secret: the Bombchus will become available in this game, too.

If you run out of Bombchus, the witch Syrup in Yoll Graveyard now will sell more.

During Ambi's age, find the Mystery Tree on East Rolling Ridge. A Subrosian near the tree will ask you to tell a secret to the master smith in Subrosia. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and go to Subrosia. The easiest way is probably from the portal in north-west Winter Woords; from there, travel to the south-west to the forge. When you get there, tell the secret to the subrosian at the counter. When you do so, the master smith will give you a Shield Upgrade. Then, he will tell you another secret. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Farore and tell her the smith's secret: the Shield will be upgraded in this game, too.

If you owned a wooden shield, the upgrade turns it into an Iron Shield; if you owned and iron shield already, now it becomes a Mirror Shield.

Mermaid's Cave

It is better to clear the dungeon in chronological order, i.e. let us start from Ambi's age.

In the last portion of the dungeon, the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 36.png Quicksand Ring will be extremely useful, because it allows to ignore water currents, too.

Ambi's age, part 1

Bomb the right wall. Kill all Wizzrobes here to obtain a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed. Continue to the right and put the Candleheads on fire using Ember Seeds. Continue up and right. The Bubbles can be defeated with the boomerang. Lit up the lamps in this order: upper-left, upper-middle, lower-middle and lasty upper-right; if you do it right, the right wall will move away; later, you will be able to explore the deep water. Now go left, instead, and swim to the far left for the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map.

Return to the entrance. Go up and left for the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass, after you slayed all four Gels there.

Go to the previous room, then up two rooms; defeat all the enemies there to open the door to the next room. In this room you need to kill the Shrouded Stalfos to pick up File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Backtrack a few rooms and unlock the door to the left. Use the Cane of Somaria to place a red block on the right button; destroy all pots except the one in the middle; move it on the left button to open the door. Kill the Floormasters first, since they can bring you back to the entrance; destroy the blocks with bombs along with the northern wall which has a secret passage to the north. Once the hole in the wall is made, exit the dungeon and play the Tune of Currents.

Zelda's age, part 1

Enter the cave during Zelda's age and unlock the door to Mermaid's Cave. Go north and kill the Ropes, so that the lamps will stop shooting fireballs at you. Continue north, then west. Cross the chasm using the Switch Hook and get the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map.

Go back one room and continue north. Shoot the crystal with Seed Shooter, walk to the upper-right part and shoot the crystal again to go right. The Owl Statues gives you a tip to use Scent Seeds; select them from the Seed Satchel to let the Ropes fall in the chasm. This will net you a File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Go to the previous room and shoot the crystal; go to lower-left part and shoot it again. Continue west; bomb the southern wall, go south using the Switch Hook and bomb another wall to a room with a puzzle. Push the color cube down, left twice to clear the red mark. Push color cube right twice, make a circle (up, left, down, right), make another circle (up, left, down and right), the right twice to clear the yellow mark. Push color cube left twice, up, right, down, left and up three times to clear the last mark. A chest with File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

After taking the key, backtrack two rooms north. If you bombed up the northern wall during Ambi's age, then a hole will be there. Go north and enter both wheels, then continue along the passage. Jump off the ledge and go back the wheel again. Repeat it, so that you come out to the south. Follow the path and take another File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key from the chest.

Jump off to the right and return to the wheel once again. After the wheel, go north and jump off the ledge, go back south and take another tour in the two wheels, so that you can go east. Follow the path, open the door at the end and get prepared to fight Vire.

Miniboss: Vire

Vire is a underling of Veran. Equip yourself with sword and shield. Vire will fire several blue fireballs at you. You can either destroy them with the sword or block them with the shield. Wait until Vire comes near you and slash him. After three hits Vire will change his tactics and circle around you. Be patient and wait until he attacks you. After three more hits Vire will split up into two large bats. Again wait until these two parts fly low towards you and slash them for good. Vire will give up and flee.

After you defeated Vire, continue to the next room. Throw a bomb with the right timing at the cracked blocks, then swap over with the Switch Hook to the chest with the File:Zelda Oracles Mermaid Suit.png Mermaid Suit.

Now go back to the entrance, e.g. using the warp in Vire's room.

Use Cane of Somaria and then use Seed Shooter to build the bridge to the boss.

From the entrance go east and shoot Ember Seeds on the Candleheads to open the next door. Watch out for the Blade Trap|Giant Blade Traps, which follow a pattern; open the north door with a Small Key. Swap yourself to the other side with the Switch Hook and go right. Get the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass from the chest, then jump down.

Go down the stairs and go to the other side. Once you're out go south-west to get 10 File:Zelda Oracles Small Red Rupee.png Rupees. Go back and unlock the key block. Continue to the north room. Try to pull any lever until a chest appear instead of Ropes: it's random; take out the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key from the chest. Now it is time to leave this dungeon. On the underground way back you need to use the Cane of Somaria to create a block.

In the cave outside the dungeon, dive in the small pond; you'll find a File:Zelda Oracles Ring 19.png Toss Ring.

Ambi's age, part 2

Return to the Ambi's age and reenter the dungeon. Go all the way west, beyond where the wall moved away. Dive in the deep water. Follow the path, go downstairs and swim to a different area, but watch out for the current and avoid falling in the pits. Equip the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 36.png Quicksand Ring if you have it. Swim to a room with two Ropes and fire-shooting statues. Kill the snakes for one File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Now return back to the entrance. Check your map: go all the way north-east, as close as possible to the boss room, in a room with a locked door and a deep water pond. Ignore the door for now, but instead dive in the deep water. In the next room you can get 30 File:Zelda Oracles Middle Blue Rupee.png Rupees from the chest. Continue north-east, killing Ropes to open your way. In the dead-end room, use the Switch Hook to bring all six diamonds on the colored platform to get one File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Now resurface and use a Small Key to open the door. Unlock the key block with the last Small Key and use the Cane of Somaria to place a block on the button, then shoot the crystal with the Seed Shooter. Now the way to the boss Octogon is free.

Boss: Octogon

Swim to the platform in the middle and prepare sword and Seed Shooter for this boss. Octogon will circle around and shoot a rock at you. When Octogon opens the mouth, then attack it with the sword, since that is the only vulnerable spot on him. After a while he will dive under water. Do the same and attack him there with the Seed Shooter until Octogon surfaces, then you just need to surface too and attack him with the sword.

After a while Octogon will be defeated and you can obtain the File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container. Go right and get the File:Zelda Oracles Lonely Peak.png Lonely Peak.

Zora Seas and Jabu-Jabu's Belly

The Maku Tree will tell you that Queen Ambi left her palace, so now is the time to save Nayru.

Now that you have the Mermaid Suit, you can explore the sea bottom around Crescent Island.

During Ambi's age there is a cave in the south-west. Go down to the end and dive in to bypass the blockade and surface on the other side and enter the cave. Talk to the Tokay to receive the L-2 File:Zelda Oracles Shield L2.png Iron Shield (in a linked game, if you owned the Iron Shield already, you will get the L-3 File:Zelda Oracles Shield L3.png Mirror Shield instead).

During Zelda's age, there is a passage under the north coast of Crescent Island. This is a small maze, so most of the passages are dead-ends. Swim following one wall (e.g. clockwise keeping to the "external" side), and you will eventually reach a cave. Open the chest inside to receive the last File:Zelda Oracles Piece of Heart.png Piece of Heart (last one except if you still have to get one from Gasha trees or Maple).

Ambi's palace and Zora seas

Ambi's Palace

Pushing all four buttons in the garden give way to the secret entrance to the palace.

Return to Ambi's age and go to Ambi's Palace. You will meet Ralph again at the palace entrance, and he tells you of a secret path to the palace, since the front door is packed with guards. You need to push four buttons in each corner of the palace garden, but you should hide from the line of sight of the Palace Guards, otherwise they will throw you out of the palace and you have to sneak in again. Once all four buttons are pressed, go east where the four statues moved away to reveal the stairs behind the bush. Go down and dive in the small pond there. Swim through the underwater passage, emerge at the end and go upstairs.

You are now inside the palace. The Guards here won't throw you out, but instead attack you. Move one block away and go west first. After two rooms you can get the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 29.png Gold Luck Ring. Go all the way east; if you need healing, then go north to find two Faeries, otherwise just climb upstairs and go through a few rooms. You will meet Veran in the last one.

Boss: Veran

This boss needs some preparation. First, equip yourself with Switch Hook and Seed Shooter with Mystery Seeds. Veran is inside Nayru's body, so you cannot attack her directly. You need to shoot her with Mystery Seeds from the Seed Shooter.

Veran will warp around and throw fireballs in all direction. Once you shoot her, then Veran will leave Nayru's body, but you need to drag her away from Nayru, so use Switch Hook on her spirit to move her away from Nayru. After that she will finally take her true form and you can attack her with the sword. Hit her once and she will return into Nayru's Body, so you need to repeat the steps twice to defeat her.

Intermission

Nayru brings Ralph, you and herself to Zelda's age.

Nayru returns to her sense and Queen Ambi comes in, but Veran takes over her body and calls the Guards. Ralph arrives here, so Nayru brings the three of you to Zelda's age. Nayru teaches you the File:Zelda Oracles Tune of Ages.png Tune of Ages, with which you can travel forth and back in time. The Maku Tree tells that one Essence of Time is inside a Fish.

Climb up the Maku Tree to the roof and you can find two File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seeds there. Do you have a Magic Potion in your inventory? If not, then you can buy one at Syrup's shop for 300 Rupees, swipe one from Maple or get it from a Gasha tree.

Using the Tune of Ages, you can now reach two class-4 Gasha spots on Talus Peaks.

Zora Seas

Earlier on, on Talus Peaks, you had to switch between two different time ages to navigate the area. Now, in the Zora Seas, you have to switch between two time ages and also between surface and sea bottom.

Equip the Switch Hook on button A and the Tune of Ages on button B.

During Zelda's age, go to the South Shore and swim in the water to the south-west. Go onshore where you see a hut on an islet. The fisherwoman inside explains that the islet is drifting from the west to the east through the centuries. Exit the hut and play the Tune of Ages on the west end.

  • Ambi's age: Swim west, then north on another islet and play the Tune of Ages there.
  • Zelda's age: Dive in and go east (south is a dead-end). Use the Switch Hook on the diamond and surface. Play the Tune of Ages on the isle.
  • Ambi's age: Go all the way west, then south and land on the next isle. Play the Tune of Ages just by the stairs or you'll be teleported back.
  • Zelda's age: Now dive, go south and use the Switch Hook on the diamond. Go west and you're in Zora Village.

Zora Village

During Zelda's age, meet the Hylian (human) diver over the Zora Village. He will ask you to tell a secret to his master in Holodrum. Switch back to Oracle of Seasons and go to the Sunken City. The master diver is in one house: tell him the secret. When you do so, he will test your diving skills: a staircase to the basement will open; when you go downstairs, you have 30 seconds to navigate an underwater maze full of Cheep-Cheeps and retrieve an item. The Roc's cape allows to save a crucial couple of seconds. When you will succeed, the master diver will give you the Swimmer's ring. Go to Vasu the Jeweler, have the ring appraised, then ask a Ring Secret to Red Snake. Switch again to Oracle of Ages, go to Vasu and tell Red Snake the new Ring Secret: the ring collection will be updated in this game, too.

Four quick explorations of Zora Village, before you continue to the King's palace:

  • Zelda's age, surface: get Gale Seeds from the tree; a File:Zelda Oracles Ring 31.png Green Holy Ring from a chest to the north; you can also bomb a wall to enter the Zora graveyard.
  • Zelda's age, underwater: the Zora inhabitants give various information; of more immediate interest, a chest on the west side holds a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed.
  • Ambi's age, surface: in the south-west corner, plant a Gasha seed in a class-4 spot; then, get the Gale seeds to set a warp point.
  • Ambi's age, underwater: just talk to the several Zoras.

During Zelda's age, enter King Zora's palace. A lonely liar says that the king fell ill and died long ago, and that the key to Eyeglass library was lost. This is false, and his lie will be exposed soon. You can get 200 File:Zelda Oracles Big Red Rupee.png Rupees from the chest.

Travel back in time and enter the Zora palace again. Give the Magic Potion to King Zora, and he will heal up. The lie you heard is now exposed: King Zora never died during Ambi's age; in fact, return to Zelda's age, and you will see that the King is alive and well, and he confirms he has been alive for 400 years. The Zora liar now admits that the King owns the key. Talk to the Zora King, and he will give you the File:Zelda Oracles Library Key.png Library Key. If you save Jabu-Jabu from the polluted seawater, then you'll receive the permission to enter inside it.

Eyeglass Library

Now that you are during Zelda's age, you can use some Gale Seeds, travel to Yoll Graveyard and buy another magic potion (otherwise, you can try your chance for with Maple or the Gasha trees).

Leave the Palace and go all the way to the east, until you reach the library. During both Zelda's and Ambi's age, the library is closed, but there is a keyhole during Ambi's age. Use the key and enter the library. The wise men inside guard some Faerie Powder, but they require a Book of Seals to reach it. They also talk about the Great Faerie and an Octorok in a nearby island.

Return to Zelda's age and, surprisingly, the Eyeglass Library is now open! People inside say that the Great Fairy was turned into an octorok centuries earlier, but some faerie powder broke the curse. Get the File:Zelda Oracles Book of Seals.png Book of Seals from the old man in the back room.

Now go back to Ambi's age and reenter the back room in the library. Place the Book of Seals on the pedestal. It gives you the first directions about how to walk in the darkness to the second book of seals; the Cane of Somaria can also help, if you are in doubt.

When you reach the old man, as a reward he gives you the File:Zelda Oracles Faerie Powder.png Faerie Powder. Now return to the cursed Great Faerie and use the Faerie Powder on her to break her curse. She in turn will clean the Zora Seas from the pollution.

Return to 400 years in the future: surprisingly, the pollution was cleaned up while Link was away, and even more surprisingly, everybody thinks that it was you who did it! Thanks to this misunderstanding, King Zora gives his permission to enter Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Leave the palace, go to the "temple" nearby and Jabu-Jabu will open his mouth, so you can enter.

Before entering the dungeon, check the map (press select): a small area in the south-east of the Zora Seas is still unexplored. Start from Ambi's age and use the Tune of Ages there to obtain a File:Zelda Oracles Ring 63.png Whimsical Ring from the chest.

In chronological order, some oddities become apparent:

  1. During Ambi's age, Link unlocks the library gate; later, the Faerie Queen cleans up the Zora seas.
  2. Sometimes during the 400 years in-between, the Zora Seas get polluted again, the library gate gets closed again, and the keyhole is destroyed.
  3. During Zelda's age, Link finds that the library gates are closed and there is no keyhole. He leaves for a little while, and when he returns the library is open and people are inside. Maybe Link came too early that day, just few minutes before the library opened following a regular work schedule?
  4. Still during Zelda's age, Link leaves for a short while, and when he returns, the polluted sea got cleaned again. Although Link did only the first cleaning, everybody cheers him up as if he did both.

Jabu-Jabu's belly

Dungeon, part 1

From the entrance, go north. Defeat the crabs and the Like-Like, and you can obtain the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass.

Go west; this room requires the dungeon item to obtain the chest. Continue south; swim over the black pits and use the Switch Hook to move the diamonds near the four statues; the 1st File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key will appear.

Nothing else can be done on this floor, for the moment. Go back north to the previous room, swim to the yellow area, then press B to emerge. Continue to the west (it is the only possible way), open the chest for the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map. Look carefully at the map: the three floors superimposed make the shape of a fish, that is Jabu-Jab itself; the ground floor is the head, the first floor is the body and the second floor is the tail.

From the map chest, continue straight north for three rooms. Push the blocks and continue east. A Pegasus Seed can be useful to dodge the Spinning Blade Traps there. If you go south, the Owl Statue will give you an useful hint about the dungeon structure, but the door is one-way. Take a little tour, get back to the spinning blade traps, but now use the 1st Small Key and climb the stairs to Jabu-Jabu's tail. Follow the only possible path. In the final room, the Owl Statue explains: the red button lowers the water, the blue buttons raise it. Right now, you have to press the red and lower the water.

Dungeon, part 2

Descend back to the "body" (1st floor). Proceed one room south, where the Owl Statue is; the "golden isle" went down with the water, and you can follow it by jumping in the hole on the right. Use the Switch Hook to reach a chest with a File:Zelda Oracles Ring 45.png Like-Like Ring.

Jump off the ledge and explore the "head" (ground floor) without water. Note that all Baris become red Gels out of the water. One room south, push a block and open the chest for the 2nd File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Continue east. Use the Cane of Somaria to open a door and go further east. Climb the first staircase you see. Go north two rooms, then use the Switch Hook to continue west and upstairs. In the "tail" (floor 2), go north again, then use the 2nd Small Key to open the door. Press the blue button, and the water will rise again, but this time you are in a different body part.

Dungeon, part 3

From the switch room, go all the way south to a deep water pond. Swim across the pond to the "east fin" room (see map). Defeat the enemies and earn the 3rd File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Go back one room north and one west, and dive in the deep water. The floating isle floated away, leaving open the path to the chest. Open it for a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed. Downstairs, the mini-boss is waiting.

Mini-boss: Angler Fish

You will need three items for this fight: the Roc's feather, the Seed Shooter loaded with Scent seeds, and obviously the sword.

Use the Roc's feather to dodge the fish's attacks, shoot scent seeds to make it fall, then slash its "lantern" with the sword. Repeat until victory.

Dungeon, part 4

Climb the stairs beyond the Angler Fish. Upstairs, press A to use the 3rd Small Key on the key block. The chest holds the File:Zelda Oracles Switch Hook.png L-2 Switch Hook. Use it on the visible diamond.

Check the map: there is still one chest in Jabu-Jabu's head (this floor). Get to that room, and you will realize that still the chest is inaccessible. Get on the yellow area, emerge to Jabu-Jabu's body, then go all way north and to the tail to the switch room to lower the water. Backtrack (with the help of the Swith Hook), and you can finally claim the 4th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Time to raise the water again. Go to the east side of Jabu-Jabu's head (with the help of the Cane of Somaria), climb the stairs and go all the way north to the switch room, where you can raise the water.

Another tour to the head, where two unexplored rooms are left (check the map). Swim to the north-west corner, then climb down the stairs. Use the L-2 Switch Hook and the Roc's feather. Climb up to the room and defeat all enemies for the 5th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Now go back to the tail, using a different path. In the room south from the last key, emerge in the "body", then continue south-east. Use the L-2 Switch Hook and continue east, then all the way north. In the room east from the switch room, you can now use the upgraded Switch Hook and cross to the other side. Use the 4th Small Key on the key block and proceed west, then south. You are back in the switch room, where you can further raise the water.

Dungeon, part 5

From the switch room, backtrack a bit and proceed south to the room with the chest (check the map). Use the L-2 Switch Hook and get the 6th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Go downstairs to the body and check the map: there is only one chest left, in the "west fin" room. Swim all the way there, use the Switch Hook to reach the chest and collect the 7th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Leave the room and dive into the "head" floor. Swim east and north, and descend the stairs.

With three keys in your possession, backtrack upstairs (use the L-2 Switch Hook), to the very end of Jabu-Jabu's tail (check the map), and use the three Small Keys. The two chests there hold a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha Seed and the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key.

How to get to the boss room? First, go on its same floor. Check the map, and go to the room exactly north of the boss. There, dive in the deep water and re-emerge from the other passage in the same room. Use the Seed Shooter (instead of the Seed Satchel) to hear what the Owl Statue says about the boss. Continue along the narrow ledge, all the way to the boss room.

Boss: Plasmarine

For this battle, all you need is the L-2 Switch Hook. You can also equip a ring that raises defence, because the sword will be useless.

Whenever the boss shoots a energy ball, reply with the Switch Hook, so that the boss will get hit by its own attack. Try and keep aligned horizontally or vertically with it. After a few hits, it should go down.

Obtain the File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container and proceed north to get the File:Zelda Oracles Rolling Sea.png Rolling Sea.

Sea of No Return and Ancient Tomb

When Link comes out of Jabu-Jabu's belly, the Maku Tree reveals (during Zelda's age) that she is unable to sense the last Essence of Time. Check the map during both ages: all is left to explore are the inner part of the Sea of Storm and, during Ambi's age only, a large area east from Lynna Village. The conclusion is obvious.

Every room is a different puzzle with a single exit door. This is very reminiscent of the Eggerland series.

Part 1:

  1. File:Zelda Oracles Seed Satchel.png Drop two Ember Seeds on the fireplaces; the door will then open.
  2. Push some red blocks by one tile, then push the two pots all the way to the two buttons; a chest with the 1st File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png small key will appear, and you can then unlock the door.
  3. File:Zelda Oracles Bomb.png Use Pegasus seed and Roc's feather to jump over the gap; destroy the pots and push some red blocks to get to the south wall; throw a bomb to destroy the cracked block; turn around, push a red block, then the blue statue on the button. A chest with the 2nd File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png small key will appear, and you can then unlock the door.
  4. File:Zelda Oracles Seed Shooter.png Equip the Seed Shooter and the Seed Satchel with Pegasus seeds. Get close to the north bridge. Use a Pegasus seed and shoot diagonally at the switch; quickly, run across the bridge before it disappears. Now cross the second bridge, open the chest and get the 3rd File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png small key. Push one red block, then use the key to open the door.
  5. File:Zelda Oracles Seed Shooter.png First of all, defeat all enemies. In order to make the chest appear, you should open the eye of all the four statues at the same time. Equip the Seed Shooter and the Seed Satchel. Stand near one statue. Shoot one seed diagonally so that it hits and bounces on three statues, and in the meanwhile drop another seed on the last statue. The chest hold a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha seed, but a teleport will also appear when you open it.
  6. File:Zelda Oracles Rocs Feather.png Equip the Roc's feather and push the statues so that they make a copy of the left structure to the right. You are one blue short, right? Just borrow it from the other side! The chest with the 4th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png small key will appear, and you can then unlock the door.
  7. File:Zelda Oracles Switch Hook.png Optional room: you can skip to the next. First, push the left pot down one tile, then shoot the Long Hook to the other one. Push the red blocks to the right of the button, then press it. Use the Long Hook to get out and reach the chest. It holds 200 Rupees!
  8. File:Zelda Oracles Switch Hook.png Use Pegasus seed and Roc's feather to jump over the gap. You have to move the blue statues onto the blue tiles. South statue: switch with the diamond between the statue and its tile; get out by switching with the other diamond; turn around, switch with the diamond in your way so that it gets in the passage corner (just "above" the other diamond), then push the statue in place; get out by jumping into the hole (you lose half a heart). East statue: switch with the diamond until it is in the north-east corner, just north of the blue tile; push the statue next to the diamond; switch with the diamond and push the statue in place. The 5th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png small key will fall from above, and you can unlock the door.
  9. File:Zelda Oracles Cane of Somaria.png Reaching the left button is easy: from the north, push two buttons south and the middle one sideways. Press the button and make the bridge appear. For the second button, push a red block from the south, then use the Cane of Somaria over the red block. Combine Pegasus seeds and Roc's feather to reach the chest. It holds a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha seed, and it makes another teleporter appear. Push a red block from north to south and proceed, or use the teleporter to leave the dungeon.

Part 2:

  1. File:Zelda Oracles Cane of Somaria.png A tile-path puzzle room. Whatever you do, one blue tile will be left; just cover it with the Cane of Somaria. The 6th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png small key will fall from above, and you can unlock the door.
  2. File:Zelda Oracles Switch Hook.png Dive in the deep water. When you emerge on the other side, hit the crystal, so you can pass the lowered blue barrier; push the pot right, north a bit, then all the way south. Hit the crystal again and stand on the lowered red barrier; throw a bomb to hit the crystal again; pass the lowered blue barrier and press the button. Use the Switch Hook on the two pots to backtrack (the Mermaid Suit would reset the puzzle). Open the chest for the 7th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png small key, and use it to unlock the key block.
  3. File:Zelda Oracles Mermaid Suit.png The Mermaid Suit is necessary here to swim underwater. Use the Long Hook to reach the puzzle in the north-west corner. The puzzle is less easy that what it seems, because of the narrow room. Using the Switch Hook, move one diamond out south of the small area. Poistion the other three on the N-E-W buttons; if you are cornered, just do it in two steps: switch with a diamond beyond the button, then position Link on the button and switch again. Eventually, switch with the diamond you moved out south. The chest with the 8th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png small key will appear, and you can then unlock the key block. NOTE: if you need to backtrack (to change magic rings, see below) it is impossible to do it underwater, but you can push some red block in the room above.
  4. File:Zelda Oracles Power Bracelet.png Equip the Power Bracelet and the Roc's Feather. Jump over the lava and pull the lever. Push the color cube on the blue tile; the tile becomes yellow. Repeatedly pull the lever and move the cube a while towards the yellow tile, making sure you leave the cube on safe terrain. Throw bombs to destroy the two cracked blocks. Again, epeatedly pull the lever and move the cube a while towards the red tile, making sure you leave the cube on safe terrain. When you succeed, a staircase will appear.

Use the Long Hook to switch with the diamond behind the former block. Equip the Roc's ring (n.35), then combine Pegasus seeds and Roc's feather to jump over the gaps.

In a Linked Game, Link will access the Sea of Storms during Zelda's age, instead of Ambi's age. During this age, you can find a Gasha seed and a class-5 Gasha Spot. Furthermore, the skeleton Piratians are now sailing during Zelda's age, instead of Ambi's age; they will still give you the Tokay Eyeball.

Thanks to the Zora Scale, you will be allowed to access the Sea of Storms during Ambi's age. Find a File:Zelda Oracles Ring 18.png Pegasus Ring underwater, as well as the File:Zelda Oracles TokayEyeball.png Tokay Eyeball, that is on the pirate ship.

  • NOTE: In a normal game, it is impossible to get inside the Sea of Storms during Zelda's age.


Moonlit Cave

Use the Roc's feather to make shortcuts.

Travel to the Moonlit Cave during Ambi's age. The Tokay Eyeball is the key to open its mouth. Inside, your Power, Courage and Wisdom will be tested in three rooms.

  1. Room of Power: simply defeat all the Gibdo mummies.
  2. Room of Courage: make the Spinning Blade Trap follow Link to a corner where it will become harmless, then jump over it; dodge the blue Blade Trap; use shield and sword to get past the Hardhat Beetles.
  3. Room of Wisdom: the cane of Somaria can reveal where safe floor is.

After the three tests, an underwater passage leads to the entrance of the Sea of No Return.


Sea of No Return

The Sea of No Return

Emerge from the water, and push one statue so that the three are aligned; the entrance to the Sea of No Return will then be revealed.

Even if it looks like a complicated maze, the dead-ends are short, so that it is actually a windy path. Orienteering is secondary: the main difficulty here are the Lynel centaurs. Navigate the path, and you will eventually reach the entrance to the Ancient Tomb.

  • NOTE: the Harp of Ages is unable to transfer Link between the Sea of No Return and Yoll Graveyard.

The first room is empty, as usual. In the next one, light the fireplaces with Ember Seeds, but apparently there is no exit; the Owl Statue suggests to test the walls with the sword. Check the map: there should be a passage on the west wall; push a statue, and place a bomb to open the way. More bombs allow to reach the chest with the 1st File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. Use it to open the door and proceed.

In the next room, activate four switches in four different ways: shoot an Ember Seed on the brazier, use the Long Hook to move the diamond on a button, use the cane of Somaria to press another button, and stand on the last button. The passage to the lower floor will then open. Downstairs, follow the only possible path. In the room with Ghini ghosts, push the central block to reveal a staircase. Descend it, and you can get the File:Zelda Oracles Dungeon Map.png Dungeon Map.

Return to the previous floor and continue along the only path, to the north. Open the chest for the 2nd File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Backtrack to the first room of this floor, and use the key to unlock the key block. Continue along the path. The room with the Ghinis has two exits: north and west. Go north first, and hit the blue crystal: all blue barriers will go down and the red ones will rise. Backtrack and take the west fork. Now the chest is accessible; open it and claim the File:Zelda Oracles Compass.png Compass.

Now that the blue barriers are down, backtrack all the way to the north-west and continue. Defeat all the Stalfos skeletons and claim the 3rd File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Continue south. Press the button to make a stair appear. The wheel sends you west again, so take a little tour around and come back from the north to go east. There is a locked door north, but for the moment keep exploring this floor; go south, enter the wheel to go west, take a tour and re-enter the wheel to go east. Another locked door leads to a tile-path puzzle room. When you solve it, you can claim the File:Zelda Oracles Power Bracelet2.png Power Glove, that is the L-2 upgrade for the Power Bracelet.

Backtrack to the first room of this floor and continue east. Get in the two wheels repeatedly, until the southern one sends you south. From the Ghini room, go north and hit the red crystal: the red barriers will go down. Take a tour south and walk on the "red barrier passage" that is now open. Use the Power glove to lift the blue coffin and open the chest for a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha seed.

Bomb the cracked south wall and proceed (the blue block must be pushed sideways, later). Only the combination of Pegasus seeds and Roc's feather allows to dodge all the blade traps. Open the chest and get the 4th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key.

Now you can access the last three rooms on this floor (check you map). The Long Hook allows for some shortcut. In the first room beyond the locked door, use the Power Glove to open the way. In the last room, stand on the lowered red barriers and hit the nearby crystal any way you like. Now, walk on the red "highway", jump with the Roc's feather, and continue all the way west to the staircase down. Follow the only possible path, and you will reach the miniboss.


Miniboss: Big Stalfos

The Big Stalfos reminds a bit of the final boss in the previous dungeon: it must be damaged by its own projectiles. This time, use the sword and "play tennis", i.e. send back the magic spheres. When the Big Stalfos gets hit, it turns temporarily into a winged skull, that is vulnerable to your regular sword attacks.

Leave the mini-boss room to the south, then continue west. This room has two exits; check the map: let us complete the north-west portion of the floor first, so let us go west. Follow the only possible path, using the switch hook. In the Spinning Blade Traps room, equip the Roc's feather and jump over them. Open the chest and get the 5th File:Zelda Oracles Small Key.png Small Key. In the next room, open the chest and get the 1st File:Zelda Oracles 4StoneTablets.png Stone Tablet.

Leave this room to the south, pass through the empty mini-boss room, then at the fork go south. This "room of the seal" has two exits, too; check the map: let us explore the smallest portion of the floor first, so let us go west. In the lava room, ignore the lever (it opens a path that simply brings you back), but use the 5th small key to unlock the keyhole block and continue west. Eventually, you will reach the room with the 2nd File:Zelda Oracles 4StoneTablets.png Stone Tablet.

Leave the 2nd tablet room to the north and continue east (if you jump off the ledge in the lava room, you simply go back). Use the Power Glove to lift the blue coffins: find the staircase and go downstairs. To your left, push the blue blocks and use the Switch Hook to reach the chest with the File:Zelda Oracles Boss Key.png Boss Key. Continue east, climb the stairs, push the coor cube on the traffic light spot and open the passage. Backtrack to the four coffins room and continue east and ride the cart. In the next room, use the shield to parry all the flying tiles, then open the chest for a File:Zelda Oracles Gasha Seed.png Gasha seed. In the next room, equip the Roc's feather and dodge all the Blade Traps. Step on the button, and a new passage will open. Continue and eventually you will reach the 3rd File:Zelda Oracles 4StoneTablets.png Stone Tablet.

Leave the 3rd tablet room riding two carts, then continue north. The Candleheads can only be defeated with Ember seeds. In the next room, climb the stairs and prepare for an underwater session. The Owl Statue gives a hint about the stone tablets. Equip the Quicksand ring, if you have it, and navigate the underwater currents. Descend the stairs, go west, then emerge in the room with the 4th File:Zelda Oracles 4StoneTablets.png Stone Tablet.

Leave the 4th tablet room, but this time explore the "platform passage" all the way west. When you emerge, press the nearby button, then go west and south to the "room of the seal". Insert the four stone tablet in the four slots, and the gate will open. Descend to the bottom floor. Four items will clear the way to the boss room: remove the crystal, bomb the cracked block, light the brazier with an Ember seed, and finally lift the coffin with the power glove. It is time to fight the boss!


Boss: Ramrock

  • Phase 1: use the sword and "play tennis" with the fists.[1] Stand in the middle, just below the boss path, and just keep swinging the sword.
  • Phase 2: let the boss clasp some bombs; you might have to sacrifice some heart-points.
  • Phase 3: Ramrock's shields are impervious to any attack; use the Seed Shooter to hit it from behind, making seeds bounce on the back wall.
  • Phase 4: you can finally use the Power Glove! Also equip the cane of Somaria; use the latter to defend from Ramrock's "punches", and the Power Glove to pull and release the second iron ball. Stay just below Ramrock, walk down when it attacks, place one block of Somaria under the ball it threw and pulled (to block it), then pull the other ball.

Every phase has three hit points.

When Ramrock is defeated, collect the File:Zelda Oracles Heart Container.png Heart Container and proceed to the next room to get the last Essence of Time, the File:LZ7 Ages essence8.png Falling Star:

"The eternal light of this heavenly body acts as guide to the other essences."

(Actually, the light of a falling star is far from eternal: it lasts less than a second, then the heavenly body is completely destroyed.)

The lower floors of the tower are just fighting arenas. At the end of this linear series of rooms, you need the Maku Seed and the eight Essences of Time to dispel the illusionary barrier and continue.

Next is a maze on two floors. From the entrance, take the stairs to the left. Follow the path until you have to make another choice: descend the stairs towards the center, not near the wall. Then, climb the closest staircase. Continue up and down, and keep to the center. You should eventually reach the Owl Statue, that gives a hint about the next puzzle. Backtrack just one staircase and proceed to the exit in the middle.

In the next room, follow the flame that starts behind Link (as the Owl Statue suggested). Proceed to the next terrace and then to the boss room.

That is, in a linked game if you played Oracle of Ages first, then Oracle of Seasons, there is still something to do in Oracle of Ages.

Secret to Holodrum

After clearing Oracle of Ages, you will be given the Secret to Holodrum. This is a password that can be used in Oracle of seasons when starting a new game. The new Oracle of Seasons game is known as "linked game".

Link will start the game with an extra heart and his L-1 sword. Also, ten secrets will become available, and Link can thus obtain ten extra items. Furthermore, there will be a final chapter where Link has to fight the Twinrova witches and Ganon himself.

Ring secret

Whether you used the secret to Holodrum or not, you can also transfer all your collection of rings from one game to another. Talk to the Red Snake in Vasu's jewelry, and he'll give you a password to be told to the Red Snake in any other Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons game, whether linked or not.

Since some rings are available in one game only, and some are only available in a linked game, this is the only way to get a full collection of rings.

Ten secrets between Labrynna and Holodrum

All the secrets in this section are available only if you first cleared Oracle of Ages and then continued the game in Oracle of Seasons.

In a continued/linked game of Oracle of Seasons, ten extra characters will appear and tell a secret password for a character in Oracle of Ages. The latter characters will reply with an upgrade and a second password. Tell the password to Farore, oracle of secrets, and the upgrage will be available in Oracle of Seasons, too.

Two characters give a Magic Ring instead of an upgrade: this can be transferred using a ring secret (see#Ring secret, above) instead of talking to Farore.

Room of Rites

The Hallway of Eyes

The Room of Rites is where Zelda is being held hostage by Twinrova. As you go through, you will see a bunch of eye statues with moving pupils that'll stop in all directions but one. Pay attention to the pupils, and follow the path the pupils aren't looking (e.g. if two are looking up, three are looking down, and another few looking right, you'd go left).

After getting through, you will see Zelda on the sacrifice table, as you walk toward her, you will be warped into a room with Koume and Kotake.

Kotake and Koume

Kotake and Koume are not difficult. Head for a corner of the room, and wait for the sisters to fly by and attack. Kotake shoots ice attacks, while Koume shoots fire attacks. Deflect their attacks with your sword. If the attack hits the witch who cast it she'll be unaffected, but if it hits the other witch she'll take damage.

After enough hits, Kotake and Koume will combine into their super form, Twinrova. It doesn't matter which one you damage and you don't need to damage them both. Staying near the edges of the room is usually safest for avoiding being hit by them as they fly around.

Twinrova

Twinrova is much harder to beat than Kotake and Koume. She will alter the battlefield from fire to ice as she demonstrates her powers. On the fire battlefield she will open up pits of lava, unleash swarms of Fire Keese and shoot fireballs (which split and bounce on impact) at you. On the ice battlefield she will make the floor icy and send spiked balls of ice at you. All attacks can be blocked by the shield. The ice attacks can also be knocked away with the sword.

Twinrova is vulnerable to sword attacks, particularly spin attacks. After being hit a few times, she'll turn both blue and red for a very short period of time, in which you can hit her with a scent seed from the slingshot/seed shooter to damage her. After several seed hits in that vulnerable form, she'll be defeated. You can equip the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 34.png Snowshoe Ring (n.34) to avoid sliding on the ice, or the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 23.png Charge Ring (n.23) to attack more effectively, or rather choose any magic ring that enhances you attack and defence. When the room transitions, take care to stand near the center or very edge so-as to not end up in lava.

When Twinrova is on the verge of defeat, she will face you and fire off both fire and ice attacks at once. Be very careful at that point!

When you strike her down enough, she will sacrifice herself and revive your ultimate foe...

The Dark King

Ganon is by far, the toughest and true final boss of the game. Make sure you have Roc's Cape and your sword equipped. Ganon will frequently warp around the room, unleashing a melee of attacks:

  • When he tries to strike you with his spear, jump to dodge his slashes.
  • When he shoots off 1 energy ball, or 3 energy balls at once, you can also dodge them by jumping.
  • When he fires a 4-way attack, watch out! Each ball will split into 3 smaller ones! Jump over these as well.
  • When starts warping around a few times without actually appearing, he soon appear and try to stun you with a jump attack. Jump right before he lands it, and dodge the huge energy ball he fires. Be sure to time your jump around when he does, lest you end up landing before him.
  • When Ganon is near defeat, he will change the room, and your controls will be reversed. Be very careful to avoid confusion.

The only way to defeat Ganon is to charge up a spin attack and strike Ganon after he appears, then immediately prepare to dodge his attacks. If he's about to strike with a spear, you should just dodge first as that attack doesn't give time to hit him without being hurt. Only the Master Sword can harm Ganon without using spin attacks.

After many hits, Ganon will be defeated once more, you'll truly finish the game, learn the Hero's Secret, earn the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 55.png Victory Ring, and see the final ending.

Any Gasha Tree of class 4-5 can produce the Piece of Heart. Use the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 59.png Gasha Ring to increase chances.

The best tree in the game (class 5) can be accessed after Chapter 4. During Ambi's age, go to Crescent Island using Rafton's raft (or the Mermaid suit after ch.6); south of the One-Eyed Tokay statue, dig near the cliff base. If needed, equip the Gasha ring, travel to Zelda's age, re-navigate the nearby dungeon, then come back to pick the Gasha nut.

Diver underwater along the north coast of Crescent Island. Check carefully for a small passage going south in a maze. Go south as much as you can, then continue south-west; eventually follow the path north to get to a cave entrance.


Trading Sequence

There is a Trading Sequence in Oracle of Ages, and it is something helpful, although it's a lot of work.

The Poe Clock is the first item in the Trading Sequence. When Link finishes Spirit's Grave, the first dungeon, they'll see Poe by a rock that can be moved with the Power Bracelet. If Link moves the headstone that is blocking Poe's tomb and Link talks to him, he gives the player the Poe Clock.

If the player goes to Lynna Village (Lynna City in the past), and goes to the Post Office there, the postman will give Link the Stationary if Link gives him the Poe Clock. Then the postman will go and run off to deliver his mail.

In Lynna Village, in the house just below the Post Office, the third item in the Trading Sequence can be obtained. ??? (the hand) is there, and he needs toilet paper. If Link gives him Stationary, then ??? will give him the Stink Bag. Ironically, ??? asked for toilet paper, but he took an envelope.

When Link goes to Crescent Island (in the present) a Tokay cook has a bad cold. If the player gives him the Stink Bag, his cold will clear up and he will give Link the Tasty Meat.

When Link goes to the the Happy Mask Shop near Lynna City, he needs to give the Happy Mask Salesman the Tasty Meat. In return, he gives Link the Doggie Mask.

To get the Magic Oar, the player must have an encounter with Maple by defeating 30 enemies (15 with the Maple's Ring). Upon encounter, you will drop the Touching Book, and she takes it, but gives you the Magic Oar.

When Link goes to Rafton's house on South Shore near the Black Tower (in the past), Link can give him the Magic Oar for the Sea Ukulele.

If Link goes inside of a cave near The Coast of No Returns, Link will find the Old Zora. By giving him the Sea Ukulele, he will give Link the Broken Sword, the last item in the Trading Sequence before the reward.

Gasha mechanics

There are 16 soft soil locations and more than 32 Gasha seeds in the game. 28 different magic rings can be found inside Gasha nuts (or from Maple); in particular, 16 rings can only be obtained from Gasha nuts (or from Maple).

Plant a Gasha seed every time you find a soft soil patch. Come back to the grown Gasha tree after you cleared three/four dungeons. Get the Gasha nut, and plant a new Gasha seed straight away (because a Gasha tree withers as soon as its nut is taken).

Notable rings:

  • The Discovery ring helps finding soft soil (found in chapter 1 dungeon, Spirit's Grave);
  • The Gasha ring helps getting better rings (randomly obtained from Gasha nuts, Maple, or Blue Snake).

Rings

To begin collecting Rings, visit the jewellery store in Horon Village and talk to the owner, Vasu. He will give you an L-1 Ring Box. This can only hold one Ring at a time (the rest he stores for you); you can eventually get an L-2 Ring Box (holds 3 Rings) or an L-3 Ring Box (holds 5 Rings). Once you have the Ring Box Vasu gives you the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 01.png No. 1 Friendship Ring. He then teaches you how to appraise Rings. The first time his service is free, after that it's 20 Rupees per Ring.

When you find Rings they will be unusable and appear as a mere number in your inventory beside the File:Zelda Oracles Ring 00.png icon. By returning to Vasu and having them appraise they become usable. You can only have one of each Ring in your collection; Vasu buys duplicates for 30 Rupees.

Once you have some Rings you can add them to your Ring Box by talking to Vasu and selecting "List". To equip a Ring, go into your inventory and activate it; an "E" shows you the ring is equipped and in effect.

Except for a handful that are only acquired in certain places all Rings can be acquired by various methods, including:

  • Planting a Gasha Seed and collecting the resulting Gasha Nut
  • Bumping into Maple and stealing any Rings she drops
  • From the Chest Game in Horon Village

Rings can be transferred between games by the snake in Vasu's jewellery shop. Talk to the Red Snake and he'll give you a password to transfer the ring; alternatively, using a link cable, talk to the Blue Snake and the ring will be transferred directly. The Blue Snake can also randomly generate some rings if Link talks to it simultaneously in two linked Game Boys.

There are a lot of different rings with different effects, therefore choosing one can be difficult. Sorting the table by Effect, you will see at a glance rings with similar effect:

  • Attack: rings that improve or modify attack;
  • Defense: rings that either improve defense or help healing;
  • Items: rings that allow to get more or better items;
  • Movement: rings that improve abilities related to movement;
  • Void: rings with no effect.

Sorting rings by Location you will see at a glance which rings can be found in which game: both games, Oracle of Ages only (OoA), Oracle of Seasons only (OoS) or in a linked game only.

The "Effect" categories are not quotes from the game, but are used to clarify each ring's bonuses and use. Sorting the Effect column alphabetically orders the rings by relevance. Each effect category includes a dozen rings: more categories could be confusing, less categories would make the ring sets confusingly big. For sorting purposes, the entries in the Effect column must start with one of the following: attack, defense, movement, items, void. The entries in the Location column must start with one of the following: OoA, OoS, Both, Link.

Many rings can be obtained from random sources, most notably the Gasha nuts. Different sources can provide rings of different rarity, from 1 (common) to 5 (rare):

  • Rarity tier 1: Gasha nut; Blue Snake; Treasure Chest game; Lynna city shop (300 R.).
  • Rarity tier 2: Gasha nut; Blue Snake; Treasure Chest game; Maple; Wild Tokay game.
  • Rarity tier 3: Gasha nut; Blue Snake; Treasure Chest game; Maple; Lynna village GBA shop.
  • Rarity tier 4: Gasha nut; Blue Snake.
  • Rarity tier 5: Gasha nut.

The Location column gives priority to the locations where it is easier to get the ring:

  1. If a ring is at a fixed location, all you have to do is get there and appraise it.
    These ring are marked as OoA or OoS or Both or Link (i.e. Linked game)
  2. If a ring is from a random effect (e.g. Gasha nuts), there is also a probability you get a different ring.
    These rings are marked as "Both, random", unless they also fall in the category above.
  3. If a ring is from a mini-game prize, not only there is a probability you get a different ring, but also you need skill to obtain the ring.
    These rings are marked with the location of the mini-game, either OoA or OoS.

If you sort the table by Ring, rings with similar appearance will be displayed near each other.

You get access to it once you've completed the Crown Dungeon. The Game is really hard since you need a good ear and there are 8 rounds. The first time you play this game, you can win File:Zelda Oracles Brother Emblem.png Brother Emblem which is needed to advance the game. Once you have the Letter of Introduction, then you can play the game again for the File:Zelda Oracles Mermaid Key.png Mermaid Key.

Good thing the most prizes are not unique (in other words it can be obtained elsewhere) except for one Ring: File:Zelda Oracles Ring 26.png Bomber's Ring. You can get it only from Platinum Level in the past. Even then you won't always get this one Ring the first time. So do this game until you have this certain Ring, then continue your Quest.

You'll hear the rhythm as the dance begins. You must repeat that rhythm. There are two types. Press B to move to this sound! Press A to hold a pose when hear this sound! There are eight rounds in all. Dance well in six rounds to get a prize! If you make three mistakes, you're out. To try is to learn! Each try costs 10 Rupees (present) or 20 Rupees (past).

This is another game that can be played in the Rolling Ridge. You need to hit all 12 targets to win a prize. You need to win perfect at least once to get the File:Zelda Oracles Rock Sirloin.png Rock Sirloin which is needed to get the Mermaid Key. The prize after that is random.

Fire your Seed Shooter while riding in a cart. If you hit enough targets, you win a prize! Up to 3 missies wins 20 Rupees. A try cost 10 Rupees.

What prize you get after you got Old Mermaid Key is random, but Magic Rings are very rare

When the game begins, try to dodge or throw the Bombs that start falling all around. See how long you can last! You'll get a wonderful prize if you last through it all. But if you get hit even once, you fail! A try cost 10 Rupees.

Patch's Crazy Cart

This game can only be played twice: once to repair the Cracked Tuni Nut and later the Broken Sword. The result is File:Zelda Oracles Tuni Nut.png Tuni Nut and File:Zelda Oracle Noble Sword.png Noble Sword. The first time this game is played four Red Hardhat Beetle will appears and in the second game eight will appears (At first four will appears and if one is pushed down the hole, then another will appear until all eight appeared on the map).

The broken object will be placed on that green tile and Patch will recite the words of Restoration Ceremony. You must knock all the beasts that appear into a hole--any hole will do. However the broken Object sits on the track. The cart starts moving when the ceremony begins. As long as you stand on the switch, the cart won't hit the broken object, but if you don't and it gets hit, BANG!


Maple

You will encounter Maple the witch each time you kill 30 enemies, or 15 while wearing Maple's Ring (#16).

Meeting Maple

You can tell when Maple is coming because her music will play and you will see her shadow winding over the landscape before she finally appears on the screen.

When she does, watch her path and move in her way so that she crashes into you. Both of you will drop some of your items. Link will only drop hearts, bombs, Rupees, and other replaceable items; Maple drops these as well but will also drop Gasha Seeds, Potions, Rings, and even sometimes Pieces of Heart! After the crash, collect everything you can before Maple does. Head for Pieces of Heart first and foremost, then Rings, then Potions, and then Gasha Seeds. Then gather up whatever else is left.

Maple cannot steal your Rings, Potions, or Gasha Seeds. Any you see on the ground dropped out of her, not you. This means even if you do badly the only consequence is losing some Seeds and Rupees, which are easily replaceable.

  • If you collect more items than Maple she'll say "grr... why you... I'll remember this!"
  • If you both collect an even amount she'll say "Hm, not bad... but that's all you're getting today."
  • If you collect less than Maple she'll say "Hahaha! Now I have more items than before! See ya!"

If you allow Maple to take enough of your Rupees (the other items may also count towards this), she will eventually upgrade to a vacuum-cleaner. Now instead of sweeping up the dropped items she hoovers them up instead. She can also move and collect items significantly faster than before. When you play a Linked Game she will upgrade her broom into a flying saucer which is even faster than the vacuum-cleaner.

Maple has an item priority for all of the items she drops. The list is below.

Description: Arm Mimics are not very common. Possibly the reason they are scarce, is due to the fact that they can be very annoying to encounter. They mirror your every move. If you move up, they move down, if you move left, they move right, and visa-versa. It is recommended that you move up to them slowly, and slash at them until they are destroyed.

Description: Armos will stay where they are unless you trigger a specific switch. These enemies are very frustating to kill since the only things that kill them are bombs and the biggoron sword. Since the biggoron sword isn't available until lategame, and there are fewer armos then, this can add to the frustration. Therefore, it's best to rely on bombs to deal with them, at least when they're initially found.

You have to be patient when fighting these enemies.

Glitches

There are four glitches in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages.

Mailman's House Glitch

In the past, enter the mailman's house. Then, using the L-2 Sword, cut down the bookcase. You will see stairs there, and when you go own them, you reappear in the same place. Then you must cut the second part of the bookcase, and you'll see buttons that have been pushed down already. You can walk past them into a new screen, and if you do, you'll be in Rafton's house, except in the wall. You can't get out unless you kill yourself with bombs or restart the game.

You must go to the location of the raft and stand right beside it. Then place a bomb next to you so you're between the bomb and raft. When the bomb explodes, Link will be blasted to the raft, and you can use it now. The flashing animation that appears when Link is damaged is still showing.

Stand on a Chest in Skull Dungeon

Go to the room in Skull Dungeon where you have to shoot the moving orb with the Seed Shooter. Stand on the blue tile and aim to the bottom right and shoot the crystal switch. All of the sudden, the chest appears and you're standing on it. If you walk off, you won't fall off, but you will then still be able to push the chest.

Moosh Cheat

When Moosh floats Link over a series of pits, you would normally have a fall start back at the entry point on the screen. Now clear a pit, dismount Moosh, and open the item subscreen, then remount Moosh and try again. If you fall in the pit, you will then appear where you last opened the item subscreen.


Continuity forks

In any fictional work where time travel is involved, it always makes sense from the point of view of the main character. It does not always makes sense from a strictly historical/chronological point of view, though.

In other words, how does Labrynna look from the point of view of all characters who do not travel in time?

  • Any time in the past and in the future is the Present sooner or later. There is no privileged point of view along the timeline.
  • For the statement above, "alteration of the past" is the same as "alteration of the present", and the latter is apparently nonsense. Therefore, an "alteration of the past" is just a plot flaw.
