At Wikijunior, we are writing books for children.

Welcome to Wikijunior edit

The aim of this project is to produce a series of full-color booklets for children aged 8 to 11. The subjects will be appealing to kids, and the writing will be light and friendly. These booklets will be richly illustrated with photographs, diagrams, sketches, and original drawings. The texts will also follow a format, so that each booklet, while different, will also have certain common features.

Development will happen online here at Wikibooks, and some of the finished books will go into print. In the future, a static online version of Wikijunior will be set up as a new project and "completed" versions will go there. However even the "completed" versions will be updated from time to time with changes posted to Wikibooks.

Please see meta:Wikijunior for more information about this project.

Current Titles edit

There are currently three book series in development. Within these series there are nine approved booklets and hundreds of articles. For information on creating new titles see the New Title Policy. You can also help decide which title should be developed next by voting.

New Title Policy edit

As there are but a few people working on this project, the community has decided to let contributors focus their energy on a single book each quarter. For this reason, there is a New Title Policy. You can also help decide as to which title the Wikijunior community will develop next by voting.

To suggest a title for development, please see New Title Suggestions
