Service Packs are a computer science term referring to the way data and often new program code are organized and released as a major software upgrade which (normally) self-updates (self-installs) a piece of updated computer software.

This page is almost bare (for the moment) taking advantage of parking an image from the commons on topic. It will be expanded with some How-To on setting them up, arresting a version short of auto-upgrades, interpreting them, and their use in general.
