The chokeberry is an edible fruit. It can be eaten raw without being processed, though it is normally processed.

Characteristics edit

Chokeberries are very bitter.[1] They contain a lot of pectin, which makes them useful for jams and jellies.[1]

Selection and storage edit

Use edit

The berries are best used when cooked, either in savory (e.g. pemmican, wine) or sweet applications (e.g. jam, ice cream).[1]
