In the last decade, online media has become increasingly accessible and plentiful. With free video hosting sites the potential for creating and sharing videos has become huge.

It has been suggested by a number of Trainz users that the developers incorporate a motion recorder into future versions of Trainz. This may well happen one day, but for now the alternative is external applications.

Many users choose to use Fraps, a real time video capture application. Fraps is capable of more than adequate frame rates and screen resolutions for Trainz videos.
