Beef shawarma is a Lebanese dish that has been adopted as a daily meal in Nigeria.
Ingredients

- Fresh ginger (optional)
- Beef, sliced
- Stock cube
- Salt
- Nigerian curry powder (optional)
- Thyme (optional)
- Vegetable oil
- Pita bread
- Cabbage, shredded
- Carrot, shredded
- Green bell pepper, sliced
- Cucumber, sliced
- Chile powder
- Ketchup
- Mayonnaise (Bama brand)

edit- Blend the onion, garlic, and ginger into a paste.
- Combine the beef and onion paste in a pot. Season with the stock cubes, salt, curry powder, and thyme. Add some water, and cook for about 15 minutes. Once done, stir and fry them in a pan of vegetable oil for 3 minutes.
- Open up the pita bread to divide it in two. Place one on top of the other.
- Gently spread mayonnaise over the bread on top. Add the cabbage, carrot, green pepper, cucumber, and cooked beef. Sprinkle with chili powder, and drizzle with ketchup and mayonnaise.
- Fold to seal the contents. Place it on a heated pan greased with some vegetable oil. Let the shawarma heat up on the side with the open flap. Flip and do the same for the other side.
- Serve when hot.
