Ingredients
edit- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1ΒΌ cup granulated sugar
- 5 cups water
Procedure
edit- Heat the margarine very gently in a saucepan. Add the flour, and cook for 40 minutes over low to moderate heat until golden brown.
- When the flour turns light golden, combine the sugar and water in a separate saucepan. Boil gently to make a syrup.
- Add the syrup to the saucepan with flour, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Scoop out small portions of halva with a wooden spoon, form into balls, and place on a serving plate.
- Serve warm.
