- Pour oil 3–4 inches (7.5 cm to 10 cm) deep in a pan and preheat to 370°F (~190°C).
- In bowl mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cayenne.
- Mix in eggs, green onions, milk, and ¼ cup vegetable oil.
- Spoon 6–7 tablespoons of the batter into preheated oil.
- Fry, stirring constantly for overall browning, until golden brown.
- Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.
