Genger soup is a Nigerian soup made from the ground calyx of the genger tree. It is consumed by the Tiv people, where it is served at traditional ceremonies and to resolve conflicts. It is quick and easy to prepare.

- Potash or baking soda
- Water
- Fresh pepper
- Gbaaye
- Kyoho (aidan fruit)
- Locust beans
- Fish
- Beef
- Seasoning cube
- Salt to taste

edit- In a bowl, combine the genger powder, potash, and water.
- Cook the genger mixture for few minutes.
- Blend the pepper, gbaaye, kyoho, and locust beans to form a paste.
- Stir the pepper paste into the genger mixture. Boil for few minutes, then add fish, beef, seasoning cube, and salt to taste.
- Allow to cook for few minutes, stirring slowly.
- Serve.
