A cake pan, also called a cake tin, is a piece of cookware designed specifically for baking cakes. Cake pans come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials.

Composition

edit

Cake pans are typically made of metal (often aluminum), although they may also be made of glass or silicon. They are sometimes coated with a non-stick finish to ease removal of the finished cake from the pan.

Appearance

edit

Cake pans are often round or square/rectangular. They can also come in a variety of novelty shapes.

Specialty Pans

edit

Specialty cake pans also exist, including bundt pans, tube pans, angel food cake pans, and loaf pans.
