Fall of the Byzantines and Rise of the Ottomans
editWhen in 1453, the Ottoman Empire captured Constantinople, and renamed it Istanbul, Rome was finally declared crushed. It began to fall in all areas of life, and then fell altogether. Meanwhile, the most successful Ottoman ghazi came to power(1248-1326?) and began to build the Ottoman Empire. Ostman was a firm believer of Islam, and treated all his captured people with respect, and allowed them to worship whom they wished.
