Voter's Guide/Australia/Issue Guide/Truth in Government

< Voter's Guide‎ | Australia

Truth in Government has been an ongoing issue ever since on August 29, John Howard announced that the 2004 election would be based on trust.

The Australian electorate tends to be very cynical about its politicians and the things they do, especially when it comes to keeping promises.

Forty-three former diplomats sent a petition to the Prime Minister about the war in Iraq. They felt that the Prime Minister was getting bad advice and making decisions which affected the issue of Truth in Government.
