Porting

(Note that porting has not been tested, but should work as stated below)

  • Define a local responsible person (with admin rights).
  • Get the bot approved locally on the wiki where you want to port the bot to.
  • Set up a local User:XLinkBot page.
  • Set up your local User:XLinkBot/Settings by copying the en.wikipedia page - edit protect this page
  • Set up the lists:
    • revertlist
    • pagelocks
    • override
  • Have the local admin clearly state on User talk:Versageek or User talk:Beetstra that they take FULL responsibility on the local wiki for running the bot and its actions. Make this abundantly clear on the local pages that this admin is the local responsible person for this wiki.
  • Ask User:Beetstra (or another local admin) to add your wiki to the meta settings AFTER getting the necessary approvals, and to adapt the settings of User:LiWa3 to point to the local revertlist pages.

User:Versageek and User:Beetstra reserve the right to revoke running XLinkBot on a local wiki by removing access from the settings on meta.wikimedia.org without notification to the local wiki.
