My name is Will Memery. I am currently in the secondary education teaching certificate program at Old Dominion University. I also went to ODU as an undergraduate and have a bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in linguistics. I hope to teach high school English after completing this program. I have lived in Virginia my entire life, but I really enjoy traveling and try to do so as much as possible. I also enjoy playing and watching soccer, running, reading, and lots of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and rock climbing.

I believe that a successful classroom is dependent upon good student-teacher interaction. Teachers must constantly have the students' best interests in mind, and the teacher must encourage student interaction to insure that students are learning actively. I believe that group work is an excellent way for students to learn to think critically and learn collaboration skills. I also believe that encouraging students to write and think creatively is vital. It is an excellent way for students to discover their abilities and express themselves.
