Verena Kahl is a PhD candidate at the University of Hamburg writing her thesis on "A Human Right to Climate Protection". Her research particularly focuses on human and fundamental rights, international environmental law, climate change law, PIL schools of thought and feminist approaches to law. From 2015 to 2018 she served as junior lawyer at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. She holds a scholarshrip from the Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy Graduate School of Law and was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice (NYU) in fall 2022.
