I first got interested in Wikibooks by attempting to edit the Woodworking book, when I was at art school in Canberra (in Australia). Then I put a bit of material on some of the Bicycles book pages, and in PHP Programming. But mostly I use the LaTeX book as a reference, and am hoping to write something about Wiki-based archival description and storage.
