Nymah
Nymah is the mian character in the book East, by Edith Pattou. This is a greta book about a young woman who finds a talking white bear on her doorstep one night. It promises one of er sisters to be cures of her sickness and prosperity for her family. Rose, which is what hr family calls her, has a very supersttious mother who belivies that the dicrection you are born in affects you. She wants to have a child from every direction except north, because of a prophecy predicting doom for any north child she has. She does so, ad is happy until their east child dies. Rose is a replacement for this child, and supposedly an east, but her father knows she is a north and calls her Nymah his heart. She must go on a journey to the land that is east of the sun and west of the moon to save the white bear, who is really a man, after she betrays him in the castle they stay in alone, where Rose has every thing she wants, but is puzzled by the white bear and a nightly visitor who comes and sleeps in her bed, not doing anything, though. Rose saves the white bear and marries him, and they live happily ever after.
