My Life

Introduction

Born in the city of Bogotá,in 1971, she was interested from an early age in issues regarding education. Her calling for teaching was influenced by her own experience as a foreign student in an English speaking country. Upon returning to her country ,she entered the Universidad Nacional de Colombia to pursue a career in Psychology. During this time, she began to teach English as a Second Language (ESL)at various language institutes and as a private tutor. In 1995, she took a break from this activity to have a family. Later, she began to work as a high school ESL teacher at different schools of Bogotá. Nowdays, she is following a graduate program in Bilingual Education with which she hopes to link her profession to her area of work.

Current work

She is currently working as Head of the English Department at a private school in Bogota, the capital of Colombia. Additionally, she teaches a reading and writing workshop in English in middle and high school grades of the same school.
