About the Author
My name is Latosha Hoyle, currently I am sophomore at Old Dominion University. My major is in Early Childhood Education, teaching grades PK-3rd. I am a full time student at ODU, and I also work part time in an after school program at Trantwood Elementary School. In high school I attended the Virginia Beach Vocational Center for two years, learning about Early Childhood Education. Through this program I was able to do participate in an internship at Alanton Elementary. I love to laugh and be goofy with my boyfriend. One of the things that I enjoy the most is being able to have down time with my family, friends, and my boyfriend.
Philosophy of Education
I am still learning exactly what my philosophy of education is. I have definitely come to realization that education is very important, especially in the time in which we live in today. Learning should definitely be made fun, because I have come to realize that when learning becomes boring, important information that should be retained is lost. Teachers play a huge role in the way in which a child comprehends concepts throughout their lives. Not only do teachers have an educational connection with their students, but the teachers also have an emotional bond to his/her students. In elementary school the teachers have less students to focus on, so it allows each child to receive the adequate amount of attention that each child deserves in order to succeed.
