Hey guys! My name is Kourtney and I just graduated TCC with my associate's degree in social sciences. This is my first semester at ODU and I am working on getting a degree in PreK-6. I am very excited to become a teacher and hope to make a difference in someone's life. I have a four year old nephew and an 8 month old neice that I absolutely adore. I love going to the beach and being with my friends. Someday I wish to go skydiving, jump off a cliff in Hawaii, and travel to Italy and Ireland.
My teaching philosophy is as follows: Learning is important and should always remain so. Learning should also be fun. I will be a teacher soon and I believe it is my responsibility to make learning fun and to bring out a child's creativity. It is my responsibility to guide a student in ways which will last them their entire educational life. I believe in trying my best to show a child that they are important and to always believe in themselves and they will succeed. I also know that I will not reach every child but that will not stop me from trying. As Cat Cora stated "Be the example; spread hope."
