Miscellaneous I have three kids. My eldest son, 6, is in 1st grade, my daughter, 3 is in pre-school, and Baby Jonah (5 months at the start of the semester) is currently attending Harvard Medical School :-). As any mom will tell you kids change the way you spend your time. In my past life I loved to travel internationally, go out dancing and tear up the town. (I absolutely recommend spending time aborad - especially teaching abroad. Check out the link to Superkids if you like little kids. They are always looking for good teachers!) Nowadays, I spend a lot of time talking about dinosaurs and Superheroes. I still love to throw crazy theme parties and I really enjoy being outside (unless there are mosquitos).

This is my second year teaching full time at ODU and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I love working with pre-service teachers. Teachers' work is to shape the future. I am honored to be one of the many influences on the future teachers here at ODU. My goal is to help teachers contemplate how they will affect the future: to consider what kind of impact they will have on the students they teach.
