I'm from Puerto Rico and raised in New York City. I moved to VA about 10 years ago and I noticed how much young American Latinos are missing the Spanish Language in their everyday use thats including my own children. Its so hard for them to capture 2 languages especially in this state (Virginia) were Spanish is not a demand like in Florida and New York, so I decided to get a teaching degree in Spanish and give them that background. Hopefully, I will incorporate the Spanish Language with excitement and show them how important it is to be bilingual. I made the mistake with my own children not my oldest he is bilingual, but my youngest always talking English at home and now they have a hard time when we go to Puerto Rico to visit. The beach is my favorite past time.

Education Philosophy:

As a teacher, I can open many doors for students to walk through or if they wish run and for them to grow with guidance and see that their future has lots of potential. As a Spanish teacher my goal is to educate students the beauty of many languages and be able to be fluent speakers, readers, and writers. Dtorr005 (talk) 00:13, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
