About Me
editMy names is Brittany Bowman, and I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. I was born on October 31, 1988 (which makes me a halloween baby). I am currently a sophomore at Old Dominion University. I plan to graduate from ODU with a degree in Early Childhood Education PreK-6. I love to workout especially going on runs, playing soccer, and swimming.
I am a family oriented person and talk to them almost everyday. My dad served in the military as a NAVY Seal for over twenty years, and surprisingly my family rarely moved especially after I was born, due to the face that I have lived in the same house my entire life. My mom worked in a hospital as a registered nurse for over fifteen years, and although she still has her RN license, for the past ten years she has worked as a Realtor. I have an older sister, who graduated from ODU last year and currently lives in Philadelphia, and I have a younger brother who is in high school. I am really close with both my sister and brother, and I consider them my best friends. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, my sister, brother, and I used to play "school," and I usually always played the role as the teacher.

This past semester, I moved into a house right off Old Dominion's campus with my four best friends. Each one of us has a different personality from one another, but thats what keeps things interesting and entertaining to live with them (at times dramatic), but I wouldn't trade them for anything.
My Philosophy of Education
editI want to be the kind of teacher that kids will not forget, not for bad reasons, but because I touched their lives in a positive way. I want make a difference and be a good influence in their lives as well as a positive role model.
I want to motivate my students to do their best, as well as challenge them to reach their greatest potential. Children have different learning styles and I want to be able to provide and teach with many different approaches to allow an equal opportunity for all my students.
In today's society, technology has become part of our daily lives. I want to make sure that I always keep updated on the latest technology to be able to introduce it and teach it to my students. Although, I am sure my students will be keeping me updated by teaching and/or helping me use the latest technology. I believe that by using technology will make the lessons and classroom a little bit more fun.
