About Me- Hi everyone! My name is Amanda; I am 20 years old and a transfer student from NOVA. This is my first year at Old Dominion University and it is going great I love the atmosphere; all the students and teachers that I have met have been nothing but friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. I’m in the Elementary PreK-6 program and plan to teach 1st and 2nd graders, so far it has been a great learning experience and I can’t wait to do my observation. I am the oldest of three girls, I love hanging out with my friends and family; I’m a big movie buff and a really big fan of The Office!

Teaching Philosophy- At this point in time I’m not sure what my teaching philosophy is. I do feel that students need and should have a safe and warm learning environment. A student should never feel that they have to keep quiet or shy away from the teacher when they are in need of help. I want to be the kind of teacher that touches student’s lives for the better. I want my students leaving the classroom with an education that will not only help them for the next grade but for the rest of their lives, these students are the future and we as teachers need to make sure they have the tools they need to make a better tomorrow.
