Ukrainian Dancing/Central Ukraine
The dance of Central or Eastern Ukraine is frequently referred to as Poltava, after the city located southeast of the capital, Kiev. This region is characterized by wide open land, and the character of the dance reflects the unobstructed landscape. Movements tend to be flowing and horizontal.
