Category | Any category falls under this classification. | Categories are mainly used to group together books within a particular subject area. | Large subject categories may need to be split into one or more subcategories. Be wary of books that have been misfiled.
Shelf | Any shelf in the stacks falls under this classification. | Shelves are intended to serve as "main pages" for specific topics. | Editor involvement is essential to ensure that shelves are kept up to date.
Project | All WikiProject-related pages fall under this classification. | Project pages are intended to aid editors in book development, and are probably not useful to readers. | Develop these pages into collaborative resources useful for improving books within the project.
Template | Any template falls under this classification. The most common type of template includes navigation templates. | Different types of template serve different purposes. Navigation templates assist the user in navigating between pages in a book. | Navigation templates are typically placed at the bottom and possibly the top of a page.
NB | Any non-book page that fits no other classification. | The page contains no book content, and is probably not useful to any casual reader. | Look out for mis-classified pages. |
Usage instructions
edit- The code below is for customizing the template for a specific WikiProject. Parameters for the standard quality classes need to be filled in, but will default to empty if not supplied.
- Specifying the
topic
parameter will link the classification labels to the appropriate quality category in the format "X-quality topic pages". - The rows for Category, Shelf, Project, and Template classifications are optional but will be displayed unless
|quality=standard
is specified. - Filling in the X_detail parameter will add a drop-down box to the criteria column, permitting additional information to be added.
- The FB, Category, Shelf, Project, Template, and NB classifications, if used, can have the default information overridden with
|X_criteria=
,|X_detail=
,|X_reader=
, and|X_suggestion=
- Copy and paste:
