Outlook

Questionnaire developed and distributed to 6 Bond University Baseball Team Student-Athletes. The initial questionnaire was focused towards unpaid amateur athletes where athletics was second priority to academics. The questions posed to this demographic were based around their use of other social networks, past and current sporting history and general questions regarding their view towards TTIN.com as an advantageous resource for developing and assisting athletes' advancement in their desired sport. Areas such as payment, accessibility, renumeration, participation, opportunities and personal background were also discussed.

Results

Administered 6 face to face interviews to Bond University Baseball Team Student-Athletes. The following are some of the key responses:

- 83% of Student-Athletes have actively competed in sports for 15+ years.

- 66% of Student-Athletes have not received compensation for participating in amateur sports.

- 66% of Student-Athetes felt there is low level of accessibility to professional sporting opportunities for amateur athletes.

- 100% of Student-Athletes felt that an online guidance tool would have been beneficial to help them pursue a career in sports.

- 50% of Student-Athletes would agree to pay $20 to sign up to an online recruitment service for sports.

- 83% of Student-Athletes felt a 15 day trial period would positively affect their decision to sign up.

- 83% of Student-Athletes would be highly comfortable with playing sports professionally overseas.

- 83% of Student-Athletes contribute to social media websites 2-3 times a day.

- 66% of Student-Athletes are currently registered to online recruiting websites. Majority of them check and update their profiles on a weekly basis.

- 100% of Student-Athletes would actively make changes to their profile based on updates and suggestions provided by the TTIN.com Team.

- 83% of Student-Athletes believe that online recruitment websites are highly effective.


Conclusions

From the interviews conducted and after analyzing the questionnaire data, the following conclusions can be drawn:

- There is an apparent need expressed for an online recruitment platform for amateur athletes.

- The $20 sign up fee is not supported by the majority, and so changes need to be implemented in order to figure out a more compatible sign up fee.

- Even though a 15 day free trial period was well appreciated, a longer trial period may help gain majority adoption of the $20 sign up fee initially proposed.
