These beats are more advanced than the ones shown in 'A 4/4 Beat' chapter. Once you've mastered those and have practiced a little on your drum set (you do have a drum set by now, don't you?), you can try these ones.

Most of these will involve syncopation (playing between the 'expected' beats).

If that looks hard, don't despair! Just slow it down in your head and play it in slow motion. Keep trying!

Here's another one.

If you want to spice things up a little, try opening the high hat for some beats.
