Introduction to Psychology/Child and Adolescent Psychology/Childhood and the Law

Children's rights have only attracted attention relatively late in human history; the first awareness came in the 19th century in regard to child labor. The United Nations adopted a convention about The Rights of the Child in 1989 (significantly, before and since, the only convention to be adopted universally), which has encouraged lawyers and others interested in children's rights to contribute to the debate and give their knowledge and interest.
