editDevelopment started in 2017, with a company being formally setup in 2018.[1]
The Playpulse One was announced in 2021 as an exercise bicycle with an integral game console.[2] 2 million dollars were raised to fund the system by September of 2021.[1] On November 17, 2022 it was announced that an undiscolsed amount had been invested in PlayPulse by NetEase.[3]
Preorders first opened on April 13, 2021 for $1,199 USD.[4] Preorders in late 2022 cost $1,600 USD.[3]
Technology

editAn Intel i5-9400F CPU powered the system.[5] The system featured a dedicated GPU.[6] The system included 8 gigabytes of RAM, and 2 gigabytes of dedicated video RAM, as well as a 64 gigabyte solid state disk.[5]
Hardware
editThe exercise bike includes a touchscreen measuring 24 inches (610 mm), as well as handlebars that integrate typical gamepad features.[5][4]

editUnity 3D was used as the game engine for launch games.[7]
