Greek Mythology/Minor Gods/Graces

The Graces are the daughters of Zeus and Eurynome, a nymph and a child of the Titan Oceanus. Together with the Muses, they sang and danced with the gods of Mount Olympus to the beautiful music of the lyre of Apollo. They are three in numbers:

• Aglaia - 'splendour' or 'brightness
• Euphrosyne - 'joy and mirth'
• Thalia - 'good cheer' or 'bringer of flowers'.

They were venerated as deities or spirits of vegetation in ancient Greece and later adopted in Roman mythology. Aglaia, the youngest of the three, was said to be the most beautiful.
