Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas/Missions/Quarry

To run the Quarry Missions (which are required for 100% completion of the game) buy the save point in Whitewood Estates. You can then do a run south through the desert and get to the quarry.

Completing the quarry missions turn the quarry into an asset which generates $2000 daily.

Quarry Mission 1:

You have three and a half minutes to clear dump rocks over the edge of the quarry. Follow the ledges down into the quarry. Reward is $500.

Quarry Mission 2:

You have one and a half minutes to move four bombs into markers before they explode. Reward is $1,000.

Quarry Mission 3:

Run down some thieves in a dumper. The best way to do this is to confront them at the bridge and run them into the estuary. Reward is $2,000.

Quarry Mission 4:

Burn the bodies of the thieves from Mission 3. First jump onto a Sanchez and follow the Quarry fence west until you reach the first marker. Jump into the Dumper and drive it back to the quarry gate and into the quarry. NOTE: The dumper will not activate its contents until you run into a static object (such as a fence or a machine). This does not apply to moving objects such as vehicles. Back up to the fire at the bottom of the quarry and dump the bodies (Keypad 8 on the PC). Reward is $3,000.

Quarry Mission 5:

Drive a dumper with explosive drums to Verdant Meadows airstrip. Once you are out of the main road from the quarry, strike out across the oilfield to the road to Verdant Meadows. NOTE: If you bump anything en route such as a vehicle or static object the drums will shake loose and the scenario will be lost. Use Keypad 8 on the PC to dump the drums once you are at the end of the runway. Be careful backing up to the target zone. Reward is $5,000.

Quarry Mission 6:

This is pretty easy. Take the Dozer and scrape the explosive drums off of the railroad tracks to the north of the quarry. You have three minutes. Once a barrel is off the tracks it will dissapear from the radar. Reward is $7,500.

Quarry Mission 7:

This is a very difficult mission. Here is a walkthrough.

You have eight minutes to dispose of a cops' body and his motorcycle in the river.

Jump on the Sanchez and go down a couple of levels next to the crane and dumper. Abandon the Sanchez.

Ignore the game's prompts and get into the dumper.

Drive the dumper over the edge. With a little practice you should be able to drive it stright over the edge and land at the bottom of the quarry. If you roll it, just restart the game from your last save point.

Run over to the Dozer. Drive it over to the cops' motorcycle and push it into the red target zone. Do the same to the cops' body. On the PC use the mouse to keep a camera viewpoint above and behind the dumper.

If the motorcycle and body are not near the dumper once you are done with this segment, jump into the dumper and drive it as close to the two items as possible.

Run over to the Sanchez in the center of the bottom of the quarry and drive it up to the crane entry point. Press Enter to use the crane (PC).

Note that the crane is positioned over the original location of the dumper on the second ledge above the bottom of the quarry. You will waste valuable time moving the body and cycle from the bottom of the quarry to the second ledge. This is why it is crucial to drive the dumper over the ledges into the bottom of the quarry as close as possible to the location of the body and the cycle.

Activate the crane. Move it over to the bottom of the quarry. Pick up the body and the motorcycle and drop them into the Dumper.

Hints for using the crane: move it slowly so that it doesn't start to sway back and forth, particularly when it is loaded with the motorcycle. Watch the shadow of the crane magnet to determine what it is over. By pre-positioning the dumper as closely as possible (and at an equal distance from the crane as the body and cycle) you will greatly reduce the time to complete this portion of the mission. With some practice it should be possible to dump the items into the dumper without lowering them completely.

Deactivate the crane. Then jump on the Sanchez which you drove up from the bottom of the quarry and jump over the ledge. This will drop you close to the dumper. Get in the dumper.

Now drive the dumper to the top of the quarry. Remember to take a left at the crane, not a right (that is a dead end). DO NOT BUMP ANYTHING. If you do, the body and motorcycle will be dislodged and you will lose them.

Once you get to the top of the quarry and exit the main gate, drive SLOWLY over the freeway to the dump target on the river marked by a red cylinder. Back up slowly and dump the body and cycle. Do not let the dumper fall into the river (difficult because it is on a slope). If the body and cycle fall onto the edge of the cliff next to the river (and the scenario does not fail), get out of the dumper and push them the final inch: you can do so by getting out of the dumper and shooting them.

If you fail at any point after moving the crane, don't despair. Run or drive up to the top of the quarry and activate the mission again. The crane will be in the place you left it (which will save about 15-30 valuable seconds).

The reward for completing the final mission is $10,000.

After completing all of the missions, quarry will turn into an asset which generates $2,000 daily. You can also re-attempt the quarry missions (if you feel compelled to).
