## STR$Edit

### SyntaxEdit

*numberString$* = **STR$**(*numericExpr*)

### DescriptionEdit

This function returns a string consisting of the characters in the decimal representation of

. If the number is non-negative, then *numericExpr*

will also have a leading space character (if the number is negative, the first character will be the minus sign). *numberString$*

formats the number in a reasonable way; if you need the number to appear in a special format, use string functions such as **STR$**`USING`

, `HEX$`

, etc.

Generally speaking,

is the inverse of the **STR$**`VAL`

function.
