Unripe plantain porridge is a Nigerian dish of unripe plantain and vegetables. It is dominantly consumed by the Igbo people of Nigeria.

- Unripe plantains, peeled and sliced
- Onions, chopped
- Seasoning cubes
- Stockfish (optional)
- Fish
- Ground crayfish
- Pepper
- Palm oil
- Fluted pumpkin (ugwu) leaves, washed and chopped
- Salt
- Ponmo (optional)
Procedure edit
- Gently combine the sliced plantains, seasoning cubes, fish, ground crayfish, and pepper in a pot. Avoid mashing the plantains.
- Fill the pot with water to the same level as the contents. Bring to a boil without stirring.
- Add the salt and palm oil. Simmer until everything is done and the plantain is tender.
- Add the ugwu leaves, cover, and set aside to cook.
- Remove from heat, and let rest a few minutes before serving.
