Caro-Kann Defence, Euwe Attack edit
White's response to the Caro-Kann is a fianchetto of the dark-squared bishop. This move is rarely played today, but was used with success by World Champion Max Euwe, who won against Richard Reti in 1920.
Black will almost always continue with the usual 2...d5.
