When an organizational page reports itself here —such as a shelf or department page, or associated category or template— there should be a diagnostic message displayed on the page explaining the problem and likely remedies, along with buttons to implement those remedies or otherwise assist a human operator in addressing the problem.

When a book main page reports itself here, by default there will not be a diagnostic message displayed on that page, but template {{shelves}} (which is responsible for reporting book main pages here) can be induced to provide diagnostic messages, with suggestions and buttons, by specifying parameter diagnose=true (or diagnose= any other non-blank value). Note, it generally isn't necessary to save the page with the diagnose flag set, since previewing the page displays the diagnostics.

When fixing these reported problems, fixing one problem may affect other reports, so it's generally best to refresh one's display(s) before moving on to the next problem.
