Blender 3D: Noob to Pro/Every Material Known to Man/Teeth

Basic Human Teeth


UV Imaging:

  1. Select your object (teeth) by either right-clicking on the object.
  2. Now go into edit mode and select everything by pressing "A".
  3. Press "U" and select "Unwrap".
  4. In the UV/Image Editor viewer select all the vertices (if they aren't already selected) by pressing "A".
  5. Under the "UV" tab select "Average Islands Scale" then "Pack Islands".
  6. Then Add an image to the screen. You can select any "white" image that can be created in any image editor (photoshop, paint, or GIMP)

Material:

Diffuse:

  1. Color

Set the color to your preference. I used a straight white with

  • R: 1
  • G: 1
  • B: 1
  1. Diffuse Shader Module:
  • Lambert
  • Intensity = 1.0


Specular:

  1. Color

Again set this to your preference, but I used a straight white.

  • R: 1
  • G: 1
  • B: 1
  1. Specular Shader Module:
  • CookTorr
  1. Hardness:
  • 200


Subsurface Scattering:

  1. Drop Down Menu
  • Marble

Leave the other options to default settings


Texture:

Texture Type:

  • Clouds

Clouds:

  1. GrayScale
  2. Soft Noise
  3. Basis = Voronoi F4
  4. Size = .025
  5. Nabla = .03
  6. Depth = 2


Mapping:

( All of this should be the default settings)

  1. Coordinates = Generated
  2. Projection = Flat


Influence:

  • Diffuse
  1. Intensity = 1.0
  2. Color = 1.0
  • Shading
  1. Uncheck Everything
  • Specular
  1. Color 1.0
  • Geometry
  1. Normal = 0.2
  2. ( the normal setting depends on how bumpy you want the teeth texture to be. This is a very low setting and it is barely visible. If you want it to be more visible turn it up)
  • Blend
  1. Mix
  • RGB To Intensity
  1. Check it (Enable)
  2. Turn the Color to White (it should be set to pink by default)
  • Bump Mapping
  1. Method = Best Quality
  2. Space = Object Space
