Description: Goldenrod is a tall flower, growing up to seven feet tall. The flowers are actually very tiny, only an eighth of an inch across. However, they are grouped together in large numbers, making them look like one huge flower. The leaves are long and narrow with no stalks. The leaves have tiny teeth along the edges. Many people believe they are allergic to Goldenrod, but actual cases of this are somewhat rare. Goldenrod blooms at about the same time as ragweed which is a very common cause of hayfever. Many cases of "Goldenrod allergies" are really ragweed allergies. Quick Facts: Native Americans brewed a tea from the flowers of the Goldenrod to treat fever and snakebites.
