Description:
The word Cinquefoil means five leaves. There are about 500 species of cinquefoil worldwide, and several of them grow in New England. Some are tall, and some are very short. Most have leaves with five leaflets on them, with the leaflets having toothed edges. Some have stems that creep along the ground and plant their own roots. Some have fruits that look very much like wild strawberries. The ones in New England have yellow flowers ranging from birght yellow to a creamy yellow. Quick Facts: |
