Delhi is one of the largest cities of India. The capital of India, New Delhi, is a part of the larger city of Delhi. It is an important hub of arts, commerce, education, transport, and tourism in India.
Delhi was the capital of different empires and kingdoms for thousands of years, for example the Delhi Sultanate, the Mughal Empire, and British India. Buildings in New Delhi are built in the British colonial architecture. Many of them are used by the Government of India. On the other hand, buildings in the other parts of the city are built in the Indo-Islamic architecture. The Indo-Islamic architecture combines the traditional Indian architecture with the Islamic architecture.
