Wikijunior:Ancient Civilizations/Contributing

Be Bold edit

The Wikijunior community encourages users to be bold in updating articles. Wikis develop faster when people fix problems, correct grammar, add facts, improve the style, and so on. We want everyone to be bold: it's okay.

Also, of course, others here will edit what you write. Don't take it personally. They, like all of us, just want to make Wikijunior as good as it can possibly be.

Please, if you can contribute to this book, do so. Many sections are in need of cleanup and complete rewrites. You can work on almost anything including this page, but if you want to make some significant changes please bring them up on the discussion page. New articles about additional Ancient Civilizations are welcome; see the section Create or request an article.

Guidelines edit

When working on this project, remember that it's aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 12.

Try to restrict discussion to the main discussion page so that people can actually see your message without having to check specific pages.

For more information about how to write excellent articles for Wikijunior see the Style Guide.

Create or request an article edit

You are encouraged to create an article on an interesting Ancient Civilization. Note however that not all articles will make it into the final published version, though they will all be available on this live online version. If you would like someone else to write a page about an Ancient Civilization, add your suggestion to the Article Stubs list. When creating stub articles please use the Stub Template.

Major Questions edit

The questions that will appear in every article are:

  1. What country did they live in?
  2. What did their buildings look like?
  3. What did they eat?
  4. What did they wear?
  5. What did their writing look like?
  6. What did they believe?
  7. What is their History?
  8. Are some of them famous even today?
  9. What is left of them today?
