Vibrations of Structures
In ship building and even other places, we need to decide on what load a particular structure will be able to bear. The objective of this course is to find out how to do this with reference to a ship in mind. The load can either be a static load as the dead weight or a dynamic load which causes vibrations. Both are detrimental to the structure and as such must be studied.
To do so in an orderly manner, we will first consider only static load, and then move on to the study of vibrations in general.
