Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec - Yvette Guilbert

Description

edit

The artwork depicts Yvette Guilbert, a headline French cabaret singer and actress of the Belle Époque. It is painted using a limited gouache palette on charcoal paper [1] and is an example of Lautrec's interest in the gaudy nightlife of Paris bohemia.
