Yvette Guilbert is an art nouveau sketch by French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Dated 1893, it is held by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.
Description
editThe artwork depicts Yvette Guilbert, a headline French cabaret singer and actress of the Belle Époque. It is painted using a limited gouache palette on charcoal paper [1] and is an example of Lautrec's interest in the gaudy nightlife of Paris bohemia.
