Slurs When playing Slurs you start with a "hard" tongue as though you are playing a note alone, in the process of moving the slur you decrease air as to not glissando, and do a "soft" tongue on the note you slurred to. Ties When playing Ties one must simply hold out the note for the length of time required by the notes in the tie.
