  • warm the Lung, stop cough
  • reduce the toxicity of Ban Xia, Tian Nan Xing
  • harmonize Ying/Wei Qi
  • warm the Middle Jiao, alleviate vomiting

Prepared forms of the herb:

  • Sheng Jiang Pi (生姜皮) - diuretic
  • Gan Jiang (干姜) - dried ginger root

Contraindications:

  • Qi & Yin deficiency causing excessive sweating
  • Lung Heat patterns
  • vomiting due to Stomach Heat

Caution:

  • Yin deficiency
  • Blood deficiency
  • chronic skin infection

Dosage: 1-3 qian (3-9 grams)
