Actions & Indications:

  • disperse Wind-Cold (Warm & Spicy)
  • Expel Wind-Cold-Damp
  • stop headache
  • Yang Ming headache (frontal)
  • reduce swelling & expel pus
  • expel Damp & alleviate discharge
  • open nasal orifices

Contraindications:

  • Qi & Yin deficiency causing excessive sweating
  • Blood/Yin deficiency, because it's very drying
  • burst sore, draining pus

Caution:

  • Yin syndrome
  • Blood deficiency
  • chronic skin infection

Antagonize:

  • Xuan Fu Hua

Dosage:

  • 1-3 qian (3-9 grams)
