Template:Welcome/doc
This is a documentation subpage for Template:Welcome It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
This template should always be substituted – use {{subst:Welcome}} . |
Given the value of the Wikibooks community and to help newly registered users to get acquainted to Wikibooks, it is encouraged that they be welcomed and given some useful links and hints. There are no rules as to when to welcome new users. Use your own judgement. Take a look at their contributions to see whether they are likely to join or if they have already been with the program for a while.
Usage
editPlace
{{subst:welcome}}
on the user's talk page (not the user page itself) and sign it (--~~~~
). A short personal note is always nice. You can include it in the template:
{{subst:welcome|1=your note here}}
which will replace the standard salutation but still display the welcome package.
