Template:Shelf:Category/doc

Usage

This template should be placed on each shelf category page; it categorizes the shelf category and displays an appropriate category header, using information provided by the corresponding shelf page.

A shelf page Shelf:name has corresponding category Category:Shelf:name. If this template is used on a page whose name is not of the correct form, or if the corresponding shelf page does not exist or isn't correctly formatted, this template generates an error message. If the first unnamed parameter is ping, this template returns Shelf:Category.

Internals

Template {{Shelf:Category}} itself only checks for ping, verifies the transcluding page name is of the correct form and deduces the name of the shelf, and passes the shelf name for further processing to template {{Template:Shelf:Category/display}}.
