Research Methods in Information Science/Theoretical approaches

Many papers in Library and Information Science take theoretical approaches that synthesizes prior research. Chu (2015) found that almost 40% of the articles published between 2001 and 2010 in the Journal of Documentation represented a theoretical, rather than an empirical method[1].
